What would everybody prefer??

Come on guys, keep behind the team. It's not as bad as we all think, this is not he Premiership anymore, so we cant expect that quality of football.
At least we didnt pull a "Swindon" this season, playoffs last season and now bottom of the table, I mean thats a big turn around.

What I want to know is what would ye all prefer:
1. To stay in league one for an extra season and build a team that plays as a team and gets some quality results week after week.
OR
2. Struggle up to the Championship and more than likely come back down.

  • We have zero chance of going up ...
  • oh i dont think we will either, just asking in general, for like next season
  • I would always rather get promoted, the additional money, the higher crowds, the more attractive fixtures and the HOPE!!!!

Man I need something good for me and the club, to be opening champagne on a promotion to start dreaming again...

This clubs is Depserate need of a promotion...
  • i agree about the additional money, crowds etc. good times are needed.
i would prefer no.1 and then get promoted with a good enough outfit
  • Promoted no question but there is more chance of me winning the Grand Nation ( as the Jockey!) than that happening.
  • get training!
  • promoted for sure
    ah well!
  • happy to get promoted with a crap team many of whom will be out of contract in the summer thank them for their contribution to the cause, show them the Sparrows lane exit and bring in players that are of Championship standard. Simples!!!

However looks like I'll make do with 3rd division football, but hopefully with a manger who knows how to get us out of it in a positive direction..
  • Who gets sick the building for next season cack, we were fifth we now drifting downwards .
  • Are you seriously suggesting you would rather not get promoted ?

With 14 players out of contract this would have been the perfect time for promotion, we could have cleared out all the dead wood and said thank you very much to them, thus clearing a large amount in our budget to build a Championship quality team. As that is impossible now, the 14 going out will likely be replaced by worse players on two year contracts, thus meaning that we will likely have even less chance of going up next season than we did this.

We need to get out of this division ASAP and every season we're here it gets harder and harder.

  • Little or no chance now of the playlets
Jam tomorrow, or the next year is not something to look forward to
When you have been starved of decent football
Guess it is a case of what you are prepared to settle for!
Not for me this league and I am getting the feeling that some of us are fatigued by the sorry state ofCAFC
  • [cite]Posted By: Winters-Dawn[/cite]get training!

Im 15 and a half stone . That would be cruelty to Animals!
  • I would have preferred us to be fifth or thereabouts, still fighting for a playoff place, than losing 6 out of our last 7 games, but there you go.
  • This team would be desimated every week in the championship. Therefore I'd rather stay down (on the condition that it actually does improve)
  • Kelly Brook
  • Good to see you back on form after whispergate.

Have to say, that was a VERY strange episode. Still have no idea what I'm supposed to have done wrong and why the fella has come looking for me twice now!
  • lol got rather funky
  • If we got promoted with the way we are playing it would be a miracle. I know what you mean though we must be looking at next season with the intention of winning the league and going up convincingly. If Powell gets the tranfer money and spends well then there is really no exuse for not going up.

Not impossible - what we can do is to offer the 14 players who are out of contract this summer an extension of one year subject to the promotion to the Championship and then "shaft" them and get in 14 superior players once we are safely in the Championship...

Those players have shafted us over the last two years by taking our money and not playing up to standard so I have no loyalty to them...

  • I would rather get promoted than maybe have a better team in a year. Why does everyone think that Chris will make the team better in a year and that we should just wait and watch him do it.

There are 2 sayings that spring to mind when looking back on the events after the Swindon game, One involves grass and the other the devil.

thats what i mean, having a squad capable of winning the league, not going up through playoffs, its what we should have already done but we seem to go on these terrible runs of games.
I can see where everyone is coming from when ye want to be in the Championship asap also. But I would like it if we were there with a team that can stay up again.
