If a few short years ago, when the double over Spurs was almost a routine, Liverpool were dispatched 2-0 at home and 1-0 away, Europe was a distinct possibility etc, someone said that Saturday March 19th 2011 away at Dagenham and Redbrige would be described by the Charlton manager as "a tough game" to prepare for, we would have all laughed. Yet here we are. Time though to get over sentimental nostalgia and deal with the here and now. Powell has more or less admitted that promotion has gone and he is right that the season cannot be allowed to drift. Otherwise, the incumbent may well be saying that Crawley Town or AFC Wimbledon will be a "tough game" next year...god forbid!
