I just wanted to say how impressed I was today with my club. At my youngest childs school in Basildon Essex the kids have been working with the football writer Tom Palmer (http://www.tompalmer.co.uk/) in a football writers group. Tom's work with the teachers has resulted in kids who wouldnt normally touch a book from reading and writing. This is education at its very best with kids who are left behind by much of formal education at 11 years old. Tom may be a mad Leeds fan but he threw himself into working with the kids today at the Valley in making a film !
The Valley made us welcome in the suite in the west stand and laid on a tour of the ground before we left. The kids were inspired and uplifted by this work today - so I just want to say well done to Charlton, to Tom and to the staff at Ghyllgrove school for their brilliant work!
