  • You can almost give different marks for each half as all were abysmal in the first but much improved in the second.

    Jenkinson= 6

    Elliot - 6 - Very little to do, not much chance with the goal.
    Francis - 6.5 - Partially to blame for the goal, but solid apart from that and delivered some good balls.
    Llera - 8 - MOM - Great first half, can't remember a mistake. Second half couple of small errors but still very good. Great goal, even if it is given to BWP.
    Dailly - 6.5 - Generally solid, looked shaky a couple of times.
    Jenkinson - 6.5 - Not as eye-catching as he has been but still looks a great prospect.
    Wagstaff - 6.5 - Ineffective in the first half, much more lively in the second.
    Racon - 6 - Struggled at times on the wing but generally solid.
    Semedo - 6 - One of his quieter games, still did his job.
    McCormack - 6.5 - Despite what he lacks technically he's rarely short of commitment.
    Benson - 6 - Didn't do too much, needs more balls into the box.
    BWP - 5 - Didn't really create much as far as I can remember, unless our goal is given to him.

    Subs:
    Worner - 6 - Hardly anything to do.
    Reid N/A
    Eccleston N/A
  • Elliot = 6.5 no chance with the goal, one really bad drop, one good save.
    Francis= 6 at fault for the goal, but had a good second half, linked up with Waggy a lot better.
    Llera= 8 MOM, I have constantly called him a donkey but he was excellent today, defended well both in the air and on the floor. Good goal and some good passing. Says something when one of our most creative players was a CB.
    Daily= 6 has not been at his best recently and thought he was shaky today
    Jenkinson= 6 did his job well, no complaints.
    Wagstaff= 6.5 for the second half, he got forward well and put a couple of good balls in. Needs to be more direct more often and when he got the ball and faced the LB, he had the beating of him.
    Racon= 5 awful on the wing, did not track back and gave no protection to Jenkinson. went walkabout far too often and offered very little. better second half and won the free kick.
    Semedo= 6 did ok
    McCormick= 5.5 limited and average. offers very little and not good enough.
    Benson= 6 played too deep but some nice touches
    BWP= 6 didn't do a lot but no service.

    Subs:
    Worner= 6.5 one good save and one fumble.
    Reid- N/A did not touch the ball
    Eccleston- N/A possibly should have scored at backpost? one good run when he was fouled.
  • Elliot = 5
    Francis= 6
    Llera= 8 MOM
    Daily= 6
    Jenkinson= 7
    Wagstaff= 6
    Racon= 7
    Semedo= 6
    McCormick= 6
    Benson= 6
    BWP= 6

    Subs:
    Worner= 6
    Reid= 5
    Eccleston 5.5
  • Elliot = 7 did what was required
    Francis= 6 hard to believe Solly or a kid couldn't do better
    Llera= 8 great moving us forward, good passing. MOTM.
    Daily= 7 worry when 5 yds from ball, oppo 7 he bottled
    Jenkinson= 7 hadn't appreciated his pace before
    Wagstaff= 7 put shift in, ball didn't bounce for him
    Racon= 7.5 always available, moving it forward
    Semedo= 7 worked hard
    McCormick= 6.5 ditto. Limited player.
    Benson= 7 intelligent play but no threat
    BWP= 8 anticipation danger and yes he does work hard.
  • edited March 2011
    Elliot = 5 I'm half expecting a goal every time the oppo have a shot. Dropped a cross & injured himself trying to kick the ball :-(
    Francis= 5 Gave away another goal, can't defend and can't pass to a red shirt end of. Yes he does put in some decent crosses but he is supposed to be a defender
    Llera= 8 MOM, Well done Mig, our best player right from the very start. It was his type of game though, with no quick forwards to run at him.
    Daily= 6.5 Good game, but I feel I can sense his desperation at some of his colleagues defending
    Jenkinson= 6.5 Another good game, he's not wracked with nerves like most of the others.
    Wagstaff= 5.5 Tries hard, but runs into dead ends and very rarely gets in a cross. Only plusses are his effort & ability to score goals.
    Racon= 6 Average game, tried, but rarely scores and rarely assists.
    Semedo= 5 poor by his standards , sidewards if we're lucky but usually going backwards
    McCormick= 5.5 Poor 1st half (as with most) improved in 2nd half. Another sidewards, backwards player
    Benson= 6 Decent contribution, but can't be expected to score if he rarely gets a decent pass
    BWP= 6 Same as Benson, always likely to score if only a midfielder could pass the ball forwards

    Subs:
    Worner 6 Hardly anything to do, although managed to drop a cross almost straight away.

    In summary there's only Jenkinson, and BWP who I would definitely want in the 1st team next year. Dailly may be better again if he has some competent defenders to support him. Semedo has the potential if only he can be a bit more positive.
    Benson & Waggy should be retained as squad players.
    Elliot, Francis,Llera,Racon,McCormack and Worner (too small) should be released/ moved on.
    Harsh I know, but if we want to be in the top 2 then we need the best players regretfully most of our team are not the BEST players in this division.
  • Elliot = 6
    Francis= 5 I like his forward forays, but that was poor for their goal. (which I think was still offside)
    Llera= 7 Prone to the odd lapse, but committed and possessing of a lovely left foot.
    Daily= 6
    Jenkinson= 6 Didn't look particularly comfortable on the left, which is no surprise.
    Wagstaff= 6
    Racon= 6.5 Ridiculous to be played on the left with McOxo preferred in the middle. Brought down for both of the free-kicks outside the box. I don't think he is amazing, but still he stands out as a footballer in a team of journeymen.
    Semedo= 6
    McCormack= 5.5
    Benson= 5.5
    BWP= 5.5

    Subs:
    Worner= 5.5
  • Elliot = 6 done the honourable thing and left the field of play
    Francis= 5.5
    Llera= 7
    Daily= 6
    Jenkinson= 6.5
    Wagstaff= 6.5
    Racon= 6
    Semedo= 4.5
    McCormick= 4.5
    Benson=6
    BWP= 6

    Subs:
    Worner= 6 put his shirt on the right way round and a clean sheet
  • Elliot = 5
    Francis= 4
    Llera= 8
    Daily=6

    Wagstaff= 6.5
    Racon= 6

    McCormick= 4
    Benson= 5.5

  • Bedsaddick, how can you give Semedo 3? Marks like that just ruin this thread.

    Because he passed the ball sideways every time he got the ball and it constantly stopped us going forward. Sorry for ruining the thread for you but it was MY mark out of ten and if you don't agree , that's your prerogative.
  • Elliot = 5 - I think Robbie could do with a little spell out of the firs team, seems to have lost confidence in himself
    Francis= 5 - much better when he started overlapping with Waggy towards the end of the second half. If only we could do that for 90 mins
    Llera= 6.5
    Daily= 6
    Jenkinson= 6
    Wagstaff= 6
    Racon= 7
    Semedo= 6.5
    McCormick= 5
    Benson= 6
    BWP= 5 - I'm starting to feel that Bradley plays for Bradley and if he chooses to play well then it's just our good fortune. If he doesn't then he contributes nothing.

    Subs:
    Worner= 6 - why on earth wasn't he out at half time warming up ? No wonder he spilled the ball as soon as he started. Had one moment though where a Tranmere striker was through on goal and he came out quickly and dealt with, not sure Robbie would have been as profficient if he'd be between sticks. Also there was a noticiable improvement in distribution.
    Reid= NA
    Eccleston= NA - Was unlucky when he turned his man and go through (the incident when the Tranmere player was booked at the end) as he was in

    Presumably Robbie only got three cos he Didn't score? FFS he did his job.

    He was, he came out for about 10 mins then went back in for the last few minutes for the last minute manager/team talk before the second half

    Listen - The Player ratings have always been subjective and everyone has there own opinion. If you want to criticise mine , do so by all means but at least give a counter argument. Elliot dropped the ball twice , both times nearly resulting in the ball falling at the feet of a Tranmere player. He's distribution is far too slow and he's confidence is shot. Perhaps you would like to give your reasons as to why he deserved more than a 3 and maybe this time without the sarcasm?

    To be fair my recollection of him in todays game is him miscontrolling a ball , giving away a foul and numerous back passes
    Apart from that I didnt see him much but sometimes thats a good thing for a DM
    I think three is harsh as 5 is average and in my opinion his performance to day was not below average

    Ah right, must have missed that. Guess he didn't warm up enough then !

    Are you talking about Robbie Elliot?
  • Elliot - 5
    Francis - 6.5
    Dailly - 6.5
    Llera - 7.5
    Jenkinson - 6.5
    Wagstaff - 6.5
    Semedo - 6.5
    McCormack - 6
    Racon - 7
    Benson - 7
    BWP - 6.5

    Worner - 6.5
  • Bedsaddick, Semedo didn't have a great game but neither did anyone, 5 is considered below average so he must of scored an own goal and got a red card to warrant a 3 in my opinion. And what did Elliot do that warranted a 3?

    See Above Re Elliot : And don't forget that this thread is always about personal opinion of which everyones should be respected.
    Semedo didn't score an own goal , true , but he's negativity was nearly as bad.
  • I respect that its personal opinion, but it just means that the average are ruined by extreme marks.
  • [cite]Posted By: ValleyFred[/cite]I respect that its personal opinion, but it just means that the average are ruined by extreme marks.

    My three 3 of 10's wont make a great deal of difference when it comes to their averages but they are still all that they deserve on today's performance and are not extreme - in my opinion.
  • Elliot = 6 Did his job. At least he came for the cross he dropped. Goal not his fault

    Francis= 6 Good crosses but at fault for Tranmere goal

    Llera= 8 Typical committed Mig performance on his return to the side. Goal should (but won't) be his. MOM by a short head from Jenkinson.

    Daily= 7 More like the assured figure we expect

    Jenkinson= 7.5 Loved the way he bollocked Racon for being lazy yet covered for him. He'll be gone in the summer. Too good for us

    Wagstaff= 7.5 worked incredibly hard. Shame the first half shot was straight at Warner

    Racon= 6 Usual blend of good flashes and hiding. Jenkinson sussed him though!

    Semedo= 6 Seen him play better. Thought he was going to get himself sent off at one stage

    McCormick= 6 Ineffective but worked hard. Good tackle by East Stand and unlucky not to get his head on a cross in the 1st half.

    Benson= 6 Some good link play but not really a target man.
    BWP= 6.5 Scored and appeared to work harder than normal second half. Maybe that is why he had to go off

    Subs:
    Worner= 6 Looked shaky but did his job

    Reid= 6 Nothing of note good or bad

    Eccleston= 6 as Reid

  • There seem to be two of these match ratings threads...

    This one started last night and another one started this morning...

    How can 5 be considered "below average" - it's half way between 0 and 10 so it is the exact definition of average
  • Lancashire Lad, our regular statman ....... has had his thread hijacked!

    ;o)
  • This thread needs to go up on the evening of the game so i don't blame Chris_7 for starting it.
  • Bedsaddick = why does the list need to go up the same evening, I had purposely left it until this morning as a number of Lifers had suggested that a cooling off period would be helpful, now we have 2 lists as I did not know Chris had already put a list up, it now makes the compilation harder as I have to crosscheck that no one has entered scores twice.

    So Lifers what do you prefer a list up after the game or the next morning, please let me know and I'll do accordingly
