Same here. Hartlepool looked like a 2-1 win for us when we equalised. Since then, we have gone back to playing crap again.
Will probably go though, even though I said after Carlisle that I was running out of enthusiasm following another dismal February - seems to happen to us a lot.
I'm going. Not looking forward to it though. Was thinking on the way home from Carlisle game how tragic it is that my hobby generally provides me with my lowest point of the week. BUT, we might win 5-0 with Semedo capping it off with a 30 yard pile driver. I can't risk missing that!
Surely we go and support Charlton no matter how bad we are?
We are not very good at the moment, we have limited players but they all seem to be trying harder and more comitted than some of the jokers we've had in prior years in higher divisions when we turned "fans" away on the door.
It's part of supporting a club like ours...the lows make the highs seem even more precious. We have a new board and manager who have come in and offered a ray of light and stopped the financial meltdown. It will take us time and not an instant fix that will see us get back to happy days overnight but at least off the pitch we are moving in the right direction. The football will improve too in time whether under CP or further down the line.
I know what you mean about enthusiasm....i fell out of love with football a lot when i saw what the premiership was about during our time there. My awe was shattered when i realised aside from all the fanfare it just seemed about £££££s.
But as dreadful as we have been the past few years I would rather be going to watch Charlton (try) to play football surrounded by a few thousand of you lot than going to the Emirates or Stamford Bridge surrounded by the new breed of fans and wishing that many of the true Arsenal and Chelsea fans hadnt been priced out.
No pain no gain. Having my pre- match optimism shattered and weekend ruined by 11 men in Charlton shirts has been part and parcel of my life for 20 odd years now and now is the time the club needs our support most, not just financially but in presence and vocality.
Come on lads get yourselfs along and resign yourselfs to the fact that this is the cross we all have to bear! You know it makes sense ;-)
Can understand people being down and fed up with the football but its all about the people to me. Times are a little tough but hang in there peeps, a win is just around the corner.

Well said Rodney. I know the team havnt helped themselves in recent times, but fans are there to lift teams and try and give them a '12th man'. This is why we support Charlton, if you wanted to watch perfect football with quality players and 50,000 fans go and watch Arsenal.Supporting Charlton is not easy, but thats part of the reason I love supporting them. Lets get behind them, today is the day our season changes (hopefully!!)! COYR!
[cite]Posted By: nolly[/cite]Think they tried harder in the premier personally rodders
Dunno mate i remember Romendahl bottling out of tackles and turning his back on the ball on a regularly basis. JFH didnt bust a gut chasing balls and Im sure others were just picking up their wages (not saying those 2 were)
Bouazza in the Championship was the only player in a charlton shirt who has really made me want to clump him for showing such sheer lack of interest and comitment to the cause.
Wouldnt question the comitment of our current world beaters to the same degree as I would that wrong un.
Really rousing post Rodders.
But can we leave poor Rommedahl out of all this!
Nobody buys him for his tackling and if we never really got the best out of him then maybe that was down to us not him (Charlton seem to have form in players doing better elsewhere).
I know I digress but I will always be kinda proud Curbs was able to tempt him to come to Charlton, and there will always be the last minute at Selhurst
EDIT - PS Not there today because I'm recuperating from pneumonia!

Dennis has been quality at every club he's played for barring us.

Late decision for me.

My enthusiasm is drained but I live in hope that we can put a performance in today.

Get down there and take your medicine like the rest of us

Still looks good for Denmark.
Didnt fit for Charlton.
If he had been given just 1 chance at home in the 1st team, he would have run, tackled and chased every ball until he dropped with fatigue.
That is what I go to see and support at CAFC, nothing to do with glory - it's all about attitude and effort.
I went today - just compare our performance in the first and second 45mins and you will see what I mean.
Took my son with me - he was totally bored in the first half and totally gripped in the second.
It is up to the team to inspire the crowd - not the other way around !
