A lot of people have pointed out that we should try Semedo in central defence but others have said that we will be too weak in central midfield without him.
What about having Miguel Llera protecting the back four in the holding role? Therefore allowing Semedo to partner Daily in central defence.
Powell could tell him to try and head as many goalkicks/longballs as possible away from our defence, I reckon he'd be able to aerially dominate.
Playing him as a defensive midfielder could reduce the costly errors he is prone to, as Semedo and Daily would be covering him.
He also has the ability to make long crossfield passes, which proved effective early on last season.
His goal against Swindon proves that he has skill/ability.
Would only work in a 4-5-1 I suppose, as would need 2 other attacking central players.
Semedo was awesome in defence at Brentford last year & I think he'd definately improve our defence.

Llera makes clangers every now and then but probably no more than Doherty, Dailly and Fortune have all been making of late.
At least Llera offers of an attacking threat with his long passes to the wingers and ability to get a goal or two from set pieces.
Ah yes, but can he be trusted to put his shirt on the right way round?
We've seen enough of Doherty and Fortune unfortunately.
so that's a 3/10 from me
Although, we would probably want him in the box as a goal threat for them.
True, but half the turning circle of 1 Gary Docherty!
I don't, deep down, believe Mig would make much difference but you know you'll get a honest shift from him and he shouldn't be suffereing from the same kind of nerves as Doc & Dailly have been so I wouldn't be totally against giving him another chance. He seemed to produce his best form last season when he was back in the side after being out of favour for a while so you never know. I'd be happier if it was next to a quicker player though who will organise though - I'm coming round to the idea of Francis played next to a first ball and Llera is certainly one of them, but my worry would be they are both a bit prone to lapses of concentration/being a bit casual.
Most defenders in this league are, I'd say that's the biggest difference between the defenders we see at the Valley this season and those who graced it 5 years ago in the Prem. Not convinced about Francis as a centre-back or Llera as a midfielder mind, but I do think that Mig is better than people give him credit for.
