Addicks win and start a winning run (again)......Llera in for Doc, Anyinsah or Benno to start (whoever is fittest) with BWP and if no loan players in by Saturday I'd put Fry at LB, Jenks RB.
As for midfield, well this is a big problem, I think Jacko may still be out injured, so assuming that he is i'd have the following - NE, Semedo, Mac, Reid. If Jacko is ok swap him for macca. So my line up would be
Elliott
Jenks, Daily, Llera, Fry
NE, Semedo, Mac/Jacko, Reid
BWP, Anyinsah/Benno.
Agree with those saying Llera shoud play. CL voted him MoM v Luton - and I'm not sure we've seen him since!
If that is the effect of winning a CL MOM vote, maybe we could use it remove players who are not popular on here? CP could use it in his pre-match team talk "Right you shower of s***, whoever get's CL MOM totday is dropped for the next 10 games!".
any win will do considering the shite we have been subjected to lately ,the players need to start fighting for this club and i mean that by doing it week in week out not when they feel like ,if we are gonna lose i want to see em battling .
Anyinsah is meant to have said on twitter that he is out.
Whenever we have gone on a good run (post Brighton & the start of the Peacock/Powell era) Anyinsah has been starting and been integral to the style of play. Even when he went off injured at Peterboro it was after helping to set up the first goal.
It's not that we are a one man team but we are more effective with that sort of player leading the line. Sodje did it early on v Bournemouth, Abbott did it 2nd half v Peterboro at home.
Currently we seem to be trying to find a place for BWP and Eccleston at the cost of our shape and other strengths. Add to that the loss of Joe and Jackson and we are in a state.
And that's before we even mention the defence.
I'm really puzzled as to why no more loanees have come in. large was told we wanted a target man (which makes sense given the above) and a central midfielder (which again makes sense) so what is the hold up? I don't think it is because Powell can't decide who he wants but more that the players he wants won't come or the Club aren't able or willing to pay the money needed to bring them in.
Really cant see us getting anything from this game. If Tranmere have done any homework at all they will realise that we dont have the bottle for a fight.
I haven't a clue now what the formation will be and how we are going to play. Team dynamics should promote personnel changes, as a number of players played poorly on Tuesday and cannot expect to keep their places. But who comes in?
Perhaps we should use some Sunday Team rules;
Whoever turns up on time gets a game. Pick the team from the first eleven who turn up. Whoever brings the half-time oranges definitely plays. All subs have to take a turn at running the line.
WSS & co - Keep doing the previews - the quality is very good and always sets the scene nicely for the fothcoming match. Looking forward to seeing if CP welds the axe.
weird how defense seems to have deteriorated since powell's intro, as he was so defensive.. Definitely need someone with a bit of pace or someone solid at the back..
I will be very worried about the decisions being made by CP, AD, & DM if a) Eccelston starts (unless he replaces BWP) and b) Fortune starts ahead of Fry a CB. Regarding the result, gotta be another home defeat sadly.
Not sure why Fry hasnt played as CB yet - is there a reason? Some people say Benson and BWP can't play together! Why? If they are given service maybe Mcoxo is a controversial choice but we are just too weak here and he is stronger than Fairy racon. But definately not a long term answer Waggy has it over NE for me Reid did enough to deserve another chance
Win, lose or draw it is sure to be uninspiring stuff. What I wouldn't give to see a performance - something all too rare at the Valley this season - Maybe if we could find one from somewhere we can start moving forwards.
Having listened to the Tranmere manager on local radio it seems that they are in a bad run at the moment, he said one point was not enough and they would be going for a win. So two teams low on confidence and I reckon whoever scores first wins, so 0-0 then!
Cant be arsed to go. Hope its a real cracker of a game for those who do go and we win 4v0 , making all of us stay at hopes naffed off. However i thinks its a nil nil .
CP wil wear a dark blue 2 piece, stand with his hands in pockets , make 2 late substituitions and say after " i cant fault the effort being put in".

We have to get our season back on track and it starts here. No excuses for this one.
No but there will be.
although think we might scrap a point
From what I read on the O/S so do I.
Depressed.

That should be an improvement.
