Carlisle Manager....classy bloke. Giving the w@nker sign to the lower west TWICE last night. Think the fourth official was made aware of it and extra security was scrambled for him after the game. Horrible little man and Penfold/Scally lookalike.
Be interesting to see if he faces any punishment over it. Imagine if Wenger or any other Prem manager did that, you'd never hear the end of it!

I was at The Oval last year for a ODI v Australia. Shaun Tait was fielding on the boundry just in fron of me and my mates. I gave him some stick "Hey Shaun! Last time you were here I saw Ashley Giles slog you around the ground. Ashley giles! The wheelie bin! You remember Shaun?"
He turn round and gave me the w**ker sign. Brilliant. All very funny.
I couldnt agree more ;-)
No but it was on my list of things to do before I hit 30 ;-(
Doing it to the Family Stand was he?
Of course not. Nor should you. If they ask you say something like: Only very silly naughty people do that and you should never do it becasue the bogeyman will get you if you do......
Simple.
I'm sure that's not the worst thing children see / hear at football games...
"Just so you know, it wasn't a case of giving back what he was getting. He called for a foul someone shouted shut up Abbott and he came back with that. Hardly balanced is it? Fair enough if he was getting dog's abuse, but he wasn't. "
Call me cynical but I can't believe it was a pleasant and amicable as you suggest...
Oh what an atmosphere.......
Anyway, I've seriously mis judged the fact people might have thought he was out of order. Bit confused why you'd want to support that sort of thing from a manager but different strokes and all that. To me it speaks volumes about the sort of character Powell is in comparison. You'd never catch him doing anything like that in a million years.
Just curious, if he or any manager for that matter was aiming an offensive gesture towards the covered end, what do you reckon the reaction would be?

I reckon we would just 'BOUNCE'.
That picture is quality. The guy at the back in the flat cap (clearly an early trend setter) genuinely looks so surprised he could be an extra in a 70s sitcom.
Other notable cards include the 1970s detective/ ne'er retired estate agent in the top right of the shot and the bald chap top left who seems to be looking on and huffing "Bloody frog" in resignation.
Haha quality!
I take a lot of abuse from people in my job but if I gave it back would be sacked as I am expected by my employers to be professional in what i do. Football managers should be similar IMO, they (along with players) are role models to our younger generation and should act accordingly. You can show passion without being a pr1ck.
