Promotion? Not A Chance At The Moment.

After last nights performance I have ruled us out of promotions, I honestly thought we may do it this season but up to now we have showed any consistancy!
My friends still think theres a chance but honestly?.... Anyone else feel the same way? We could be stuck in league one for a few seasons yet....

  • [cite]Posted By: WillmoreTheRed[/cite] I have ruled us out of promotions.

Well I think you were slightly ambitious in the first place.
  • Id say brighton is the only team im aware of in this league that isnt winning one minute and utter shite the next.

Our relatively high position despite 4 losses on the trot speaks volumes and i still think playoffs are more than achievable.

Dont forget we only see Charlton's perfomance every week and for example carlisle supporters may be thinking we they are equally shit but just happened to win last night against us.
  • Even if we do reach playoffs cant see us performing well enough to win?
I mean what happened last night? we was put to shame!
  • Before last night I thought we should be able to make the play-offs, but even then it was going to be a struggle & may be vying with MK Dons for 6th spot. Even with our games in hand we cand only make 4th/5th spot and then all the teams in the top 6 (apart from KK Dons) have such a supier goal difference.

Now I think we will be lucky to make 10th place and expect to see us about mid-table.............only good news is I think we will have enough points to stave off relegation.

I am not looking forward to the next 2 months..............I'm not like some on here who will not now turn up for the rest of the season - I have to go (its in the blood) and I have even got my away tickets for MK Dons & Rochdale !!

roll on end of the season and hopefully there may be some funds for player aquisitions so can then look forward to next seasons promotion push
  • said before, right loan signings possible 2nd, without i think about 12th. not even sure about that now unless fabregas and messi become available.

Fabregas is currently injured and would be lacking match fitness. Messi tends to hold on to it to long and I would worry about whether he could match the vision of our current crop. Not quite sure if he would click in the middle of the park with McCormack.

Would be the wrong signings in my opinion and not the answer.
  • If we could get into a sequence of 4 wins 4 losses, 4 wins, 4 losses, etc, could we sneak into the play-offs? If we did you'd have to prey that we were just at the start of a winning streak! This, of course, means we'd have to start the next winning sequence on Saturday - can CP come up with a winning formula for the team between now and then? I'm not so sure.
