Looking at our current squad and how we need build in the summer reminded me of a phrase from Mr. Curbishley's autobiography, 'Hungry, Angry Footballers'.
These were the two key elements he looked for in the players he signed:
1) Hungry to play football at the highest level and 2) Angry that they had not been given a chance elsewhere.
I have grown tired of watching heartless, effortless performances from this current side especially in front of their home crowd - their empty applause to the stands after each outing becomes increasingly meaningless.
I understand that recent results have had cries of our need for a creative midfielder a la John Bostock. However, in my opinion such a player is a luxury and one which will not help our current predicament.
Powell will have his own ideas of where we look to next, but i believe he will not go far wrong in sticking to the two principles above whilst offering youngsters in the mould of Jenkinson and Harriott their chance.
I will watch with interest as the season concludes and hold hope of a playoff finish, would love to hear your views......
