Being hard on himself that he didn't get to the summit... most people would feel like heroes losing 6 1/2 stone - let alone nearly making it to the top of Everest shortly after!!

I can confirm its not the first Charlton flag to be flown at base camp - I had one (well a scarf) flying there for a week back in 1988. Sadly I was working, not raising the money Damien did so superbly.
