As we know, he's effing quality.

Excerpt from interview about wanting to coach:

He would love for that first opportunity to come at Charlton, whom he served with distinction between 2003 and 2006 and who recently appointed another former Addicks teammate, namely Chris Powell, as manager. “I texted him but he hasn’t got back to me, funnily enough,” he replies when Sport.co.uk asks if he is still in touch with the former England left-back.

“I will give him a ring, although I’m sure he’s very busy at the moment. I’ll definitely try and speak to him in the next few days because I’d love to go and work there in some capacity at some time in the future.” There can’t be many people out there who would be more of a pleasure to work for than a man described by Euell as the nicest man in football. “Yep, Uncle Powell,” concurs Perry. “Everyone who’s ever played with him calls him Uncle Powell. One of the nicest men in football, definitely.”

  • Interesting interview

If Curbishley’s departure hit hard enough, Dowie’s misguided youth policy ultimately proved disastrous. “I had agreed a contract with Alan Curbishley and then Iain Dowie came in and said, basically, ‘Anyone over thirty is not in my plans.’

“It was a disappointing time for me because, as I said, I’d agreed a new contract and, within a few days of signing it, Iain Dowie was appointed and he rang and said, ‘Sorry, you’re over thirty, my players aren’t anyone over thirty.’ That was his prerogative.”
  • Just confirms what I've always thought about dowie, a complete and utter tosser. Chris Perry was just the sort of player who could have helped keep us up that season.
  • Funnily enough I Wikipedia'd him the other day to see what he was up to when trying to think of prospective coaches

Appears he isn't playing so maybe he's working on his coaching.

On his day he was a brilliant defender. Small but won more than his fair share in the air and such a tidy defender.

I still think if he'd been a few inches taller he could have been in the England reckoning in his prime

    Totally agree, well said.
