Chris's First Team

edited January 2011 in General Charlton
Powely's first team, be interested to see if he does anything radical or simply tweaks Peacock/Parkies team. With the squad we ahev its difficult to ring too many changes for what its worth I would like to see the central midfield problem addressed and sadly that would mean Semedo or Rocky dropped. So

Elliot
Francis Dailly Fortune Fry
Waggy Semedo Jackson Reid
Ecclestone Anyinsah

Worner, Solly (If fit - I've lost track), Akpoe, Racon, McCormack, Abbott, Llerra

Thats right Benson played against Swindon, McCormack isn't that bad though in my opinion.
  • Quite surprising a few people are still stuffing JJ back to LB, think him replacing Racon and Reid on the wing would be a better shout

I think Llera deserves a go. Can do no worse than we have been doing defensively. If he plays and mashes it up you know i will be moaning about it Monday though :-)
  • Keith Peacock played Wagstaff just behind striker with good effect in both games.
I said in the summer that I thought Wagstaff had all the makings of the 'off the shoulder striker' given his pace, direct running and eye for goal. The timing of his runs and goals scored so far this season convinces me more and more that this is his true position.
This would give the team someone who can score goals and give us additional energy in midfield when we need it. (everything that Martyn did not). You then have flexability and scope to start with Reid on the left to add flair and Semedo, Racon and McCormack to give more defensive support - which we need.
  • A healthy and available 11 would be...

Elliot, Solly, Dailly, Fortune, Fry, Wagstaff, Racon, Semedo, Jackson, Anyinsah, Benson - Subs: Worner, Llera, Doc, Reid, Mccormack, Sodje, Abbot
