Hmm, I wonder what we'd find if we looked at a correlation of those who regularly argue for standing up all the way through a game (regardless of the impact on others) and those who are the anti-prematch entertainment...?
I find it quite amazing that so many people are so critical of the club laying on some 'free', lighthearted, entertainment for the rest of us that might help lift the atmosphere of doom and gloom that's hung around The Valley for years. Lighten up fella's.
Not sure people are being critical, it's fair enough the club are putting on entertainment for the bigger crowd but some of the more regular and miserable amongst us are just stating they won't be rushing to get there to witness it.
It doesn't do much for me one way or another but I think it can have an impact on the more fickle. I'd come and watch us even if we have a naked OAP zimmer formation team at half time (apologies if anybody is eating their lunch) but the club needs to attract people who might need more persuasion.

= Someone has a different opinion than me about cheesey entertainment ergo must be in the the selfish w@nker category.
How long before the old "If you dont like dogs jumping through hoops of fire on the pitch at half time then maybe you'd be more at home down the road at Millwall" line is trotted out?
I think anything that gets people in their seats before 2:59 is good. Don't partic like the opera singer but do think we shud try different things.
I also think we should do some things at half-time. I think we often miss opportunities here. Things like kids penalty shoot outs , races round the pitch etc.
Not saying that RCT, just pointing out that I think there's probably an age thing at work going here too which also effects the standing up arguments that crop up IMO. Those of old enough to not to worry what others might think about us having some pre-match entertainment would probably have thought something similar in our yoof too.
Look at the some of the langauge being used, "pretentious", "embarrassed", cringeworthy". Blimey, it's a bit of fun and fair play to all concerned for making the day that bit more of a event.

Lets hope the team have read the script![/quote]
If you have 23,000 in the ground you shouldn't need artificial atmosphere builders.
Problem is drinking until 2.55 means drinking in Bartram’s, which means risking a brain haemorrhage trying to watch their big screen. Can this be the next thing our fairy godmother new owners fix ?
Yeah it's free, and the beer is much, much better since the new brewery deal last year meant they could stock bottles of Tiger and Heneikin on top of Courage ale and Kornenburg. It would be a good place to go if a) it was a wee bit bigger (not much they can do about that) and b) the big screen in there wasn't from 1995. It isn't fantastic but no where around the Valley is.

All for it if we achieve something though.
