I hope Powell decides to give Llera a chance again. He is a sloppy player who makes mistakes! But hes got to be better than Doherty as Llera actually tries so hard. Scored 5 goals in 30 games.
Llera is a liability and costs us so many goals. His performance in the second half against Dagenham this season was embarassing and really do not think he is the answer, despite the fact he clearly has a good attitude.
Not been impressed with the Doc either, the answer imho is a new player and this must be a priority. If not would like to see Matt Fry play CB as this was his preferred position and he played well against Notts County there and maybe a new LB. Either way a couple of defenders are needed.

So have Doc, Dailly and Fortune of late.
no it is all Llera's fault - even when he's not playing!
I think a lot of fans have overreacted to Llera's bad games. Dailly and Fortune make lots of mistakes too that have cost us a lot more goals than Llera! Doc gets a rough time too!
Let's hope CP sorts this defence out, it is the key to us turning this around.
Clearly Parkinson lost faith in him . He played one of his best games for us and was voted CL man of the match in November (v Luton, I think). And I'm not sure he has played since.
As a fellow defender, it will be interesting to see if Powell discerns something there he can work with , or comes to the same conclusion which Parkinson (and, to be fair, many on here) arrived at...
Llera normally has quite a few solid games before he has one shocker. He won't change. But I think he deserves a chance again seeing as we can't keep clean sheets.

Luton are a non-league side which I'm sure some on here would say is about Llera's level
however, Doherty has generally been very poor this season and Dailly has had some shockers too (Swindon most recently) so perhaps Llera deserves another chance though it would need to be alongside somebody pacey who could cover him when he is caught out by the ball over the top
As long as he isn't playing against pace Llera is an option - scores more than Doc and Dailly and has a wicked pass on him on occasions. Neither Doc or Dailly any good against pace either as has been pointed out. Llera can't be discounted.
All League 1 players for a reason and if thats the case then I think you pick the player who brings fighting spirit to the team. So i'd give Llera a go until we can afford someone better.
Not a fan of Llera. Generally looks great after he's been left out of the side for a bit, starts again the following week as reward for his excellent performance and then detiorates over a period of 4-5 games prior to being dropped again after producing a comedy performance.
Dunno what's been wrong with Fortune, presumably just struggling for fitness after being injured throughout last season, but I'd rather try and bring him up to scratch again, on the basis that a mediocre Premier League centre-back should be an excellent League 1 centre-back.
I think Llera’s reputation rises when he’s not in the team, then he plays one game and we all remember why he wasn’t in the team in the first place !
I’d say he’s fourth in the pecking order and that’s about right. He’s ok as a back up to the first team at this level but not much else. I remember MK Dons fans not shedding many tears when he came to us.
I like the idea of trying Fry at CB, Dailly seems to talk him through a lot of games as it is so would probably be quite comfortable playing next to him. I’ve seen most of the games this season and still don’t know what to make of Doc. Sometimes he looks competent at this level others he looks absolutely shocking.
Llera's performance against Col U away last year was one of the worst I've ever witnessed from a defender in the professional game. Because of that game alone he should never be anything other than a last resort when deciding a starting lineup.
Rolling Llera out again ........... Seriously? After the Millwall debacle last season. It's an idea if were playing against a team who continually pump the ball into our box, but put it on the ground in a 20 yard radius, and he's in a panic, and so are those around him. Doc may have he faults but he's positioning is a dam sight better, and scored 11 goals for Norwich last season (Maybe we need some set piece training), so it's a no brainer for me.
I love Mad Miguel, he's the only player I've seen with a car that is worse than my parents! I prefer him to the ginger Maradonna, but doesn't have the experience at playing at the highest level like Dailly and ginger Maradonna. But I will credit Mad Mig with one thing, he has a good head on him.
I still think we miss Sam Sodje. He wasn't Franz Beckenbauer with the ball at his feet, but he was pretty quick and strong in the air. Complemented Dailly well too. He Made the odd mistake like all defenders, but there wasn't a clear weakness in his game that opponents could exploit - not like Mig and Doc who teams know they just have to turn and it's curtains. That's not to say I think Mig and Doc are bad players per-say, just they have a clear weakness. If balls are coming into the box from wide areas, Doc is a bit of magnet for the ball and wins so many important headers it's just a shame he's not half a yard quicker or a bit more agile on his toes - maybe Dailly's sort of pace - he'd be a good player then. As he is (and Mig is the same) I think he's a horse for certains courses - bring him on late on if we're under an aerial bombardment or play him (or Mig) vs a very direct team.
I don't think there's a great deal to choose between Doc and Big Mig, but I don't think we particularly need both of them, but we do need centre back who not going to look so vulnerable against any vaguely quick striker.
If he's not good enough to warrant a go given how poor Doc, Dailly and Llera have all been at various and fairly regular intervals this season then I worry he's never going to be good enough even for this pony pub league (copyright Ooh Aah)
I saw Mambo at Shrewsbury, big a strong but not the quickest either and looked a bit of way off first team League 1 football yet. I'm sure he'd be okay in an emergency, but he wouldn't improve the defence and would probably weaken it if truth be told. He needs to be playing games out on loan or for the reserves (wonder if Powelly will push for us to get a team together next year) for a season or two before he'll be ready imo.
I think the problem with Llera/doc/dailly is that they're all too slow, hence the reason we ship in too many goals. We can only afford to play one of them at a time but need to find someone with pace to cover the 10yds lost whilst they're turning. Cast your minds back to when Rufus first broke into the 1st team. His positional sense wasn't that great but when opposition forwards got round the back of Brownie/Youds etc, he had the pace to make up the ground and hold them up and give others a chance of getting back to support. So i personally think that a CB with pace (and some ability won't hurt) is a big priority during this window if we harbour any hope of promotion this season.

I'd be surprised if we ever have a centre back as quick as Rufus was when he first broke into the team - grease bloody lightening he was before his knees started snapping.

Like him as a player, despite his "a mistake wating to happen" reputation.
Plays with his heart on his sleeve and the innocence of a schoolkid.

Now Llera's out of the side, I wonder who the new scapegoat is now?

Agree we need some pace at the back mind you!

Everyone knows it's Francis
Even if they put Dani Alves in a Simon Francis costume he'd get 3/10 every week

He wore the head gear away to Colchester!
Personally i would not be sorry to see Llerra, Fortune and Doherty leave the club, subject to who their replacements.
Llerra has only really had two bad games for us, but he was bad very bad outrageously bad in those two
Did you not mean Llera has only had two good games for us and two outrageously bad games :-)
