Johnnie Jackson- second highest scorer in League One

Right up there, level with Charlie Austin and ahead of many "prolific strikers". Well done that man - keep it up!

(OK, I know many have been penalties, but they still count...)

  • Still, the likes of Defoe, Lampard miss a lot of penalties.. prolific with the chances he's had. Was going to get some money on top goalscorer (no e/w) at 150s on Betfair a few weeks ago but thought better of it!
  • Level with Bailey's total for last season I think, or maybe one short? The penalties have helped but he's worked hard at getting into the box in goalscoring positions too and finished some chances well.

It's a hidden problem for Powelly though. It would appear from the stats we're scoring plenty of goals, but take out the penalties (and we won't keep getting them) and it's slimmer pickings. Not at crisis point by any means, but I hope no-one is getting drawn into a false sense of security.
  • How many pens has he got?
Does mark reid hold the record , I think he got 8 out of 9 penalties in a season and possibly missed the one against palace

  • 6 of his 14 goals in all competitions have been from the penalty spot. He missed one in the shoot-out vs Brentford but I'm not sure if you'd count that.
  • EVERYONE knows that hat-tricks and penalites dont count

Except if your name is Clive Mendonca or Darren Bent?

    ;o)
  • 8 goals from open play for a player who was LB until late October. Very impressive and if he continues to get in at the back post, he could easily reach 20 goals overall. Not sure how Powell will view the left side of the team as Reid remains imho one of our most talented individuals but has not done enough since the early weeks to warrant a recall.

Jackson certainly not a LB though, would like to see him play in the Racon role alongside Semedo as he has played CM for a fair proportion of his career- not sure if it would be a great success but you never know. May solve some of the problems we have at home in midfield.

    very true Oggy

    Or, indeed, Lisbie
  • I think the number of penalties he's scored is actually a reflection in the improvement in our general play. We're winning much more penalties than have before, although maybe that's because now Norwich & Leeds are out of the question we're the 2nd biggest club in the league.
