I know there's no easy fixtures in this league.....BUT...

We have 22 league games left of which only 5 of them are against current top 6 sides.

In our next 10 we only have 1 (Peterborough) top 6 side.

If CP can see what are strengths and weaknesses based on todays game which seemed to have both and address them and get a good run together we'll be in good stead.

The players should be boosted and sounded like they were and will be playing for their places.

As disappointing as the final score was today i would have taken a point up there beforehand and the commentator said we were a different team to the last 2 games hed seen in terms of passion, courage and fight.

Feeling confident and cant wait for next Saturday.

  • To my mind mate this week is massive... I'm not interested in the table at the moment as the league is all over the place

It's all about Chrissy getting in, getting his feet under the table and getting a feel of the place, talking to the squad and the board making whatever he wants happen.
  • Always seemed to do poorer against the weaker teams in the league for whatever reason, hopefully Powelly can adress this sooner rather than later.
  • The next 2 home games are huge. If we can get 6 points then it gives a real good push going into the final 3r of the season
  • I kind of agree but struggle to look at any fixtures anymore. Southampton drew at home with Notts County today after a 6-0 away win, Huddersfield struggled against Walsall etc.

Weirdo league but a run of 7/8 wins would put us right back up there and we know we can do something like that. A couple of new faces to freshen things up should help.
  • I think any team now that puts a run of 5 or even 3 wins together on the trot will be up there and making Brighton nervous who will have a slip up at some point. Will build confidence and take the pressure off slightly thereafter.

Im praying it's us and hoping with the players we have if CP can get them rejuvinated we can get a run out of the above fixtures.
  • As written by Siblers - we'll feel less confident going to Bristol, Yeovil, Oldham and Nottingham than hosting Peterboro.

The table is just bonkers... back-to-back wins or defeats catapults teams up and down all over the place

Momentum is essential and we need to come out and make a statement next week (well a few on the OS re. new signings but the main one being on the pitch!)

We have two weeks until the transfer window shuts and it's the decisions he makes in that fortnight that will determine whether we can mount a genuine promotion campaign as opposed to being there or there abouts.

Getting Eccleston in is a start, but we need at least one CB - Fortune is out of contract at the end of the month, ideally I'd like to see two CBs brought in with maybe Llera going.

At LB we have Fry who seems to have the odd bad game, but is ok. Francis at RB is consistent and isn't as bad as some here make out.

In midfield if Wagstaff recovers his form of the first dozen or so games then the right flank is sorted, on the left Jackson and Reid are ok, Semedo and Racon need a bit more cover though in the centre.

Up front I'd like to see another striker brought in, from here on it looks like it'll be Anyinsah/Eccleston and Benson with Akpo on the bench, again we need more depth.

It'll be interesting to see who we get in, and whether Jimeniz can successfully leverage his contacts.
  • It doesn't matter who we play in this league, we just can't finish them off & win the game.

last 6 league games has resulted in 4 draws and 2 defeats - thats 4 points from a possible 18.

Funny thing is that during that time we have played 3 of the top 8 away from home and draw them all - with the defeats coming at home - so I don't see much relief with Plymouth next week !!
  • A lot of that could be down to mentality and psychology as opposed to ability golfie. Hopefully and change in management can iron this out.

Would be more concerning if we had the right frame of mind but lacked the required ability because that would be more difficult to improve short term.

  • We've drawn at Colchester, Brighton and Sheff W in recent weeks - all good results. Well done, Parky & Peacock.

How did we get on in the 6 league matches before that, Mr Pessimist?
