play football at the valley

edited January 2011 in General Charlton
Im trying to arrange a football match at the valley which was advertised as "live the dream" on the charlton website. Ive got roughly 8 people as confirmed to play and we are going for 21st May saturday morning. If anyone is interested in playing and could get a few others involved whisper me and let us know.

Thanks

  • What sort of age group are you aiming for?
  • I understand the club needs money, and i am willing to give my dosh to help out.
But the prices for renting the pitch are unreal.
And thats before you even think about paying a bit more for a ref & lino's.
I mean the pitch is going to be re-laid and worked on after everyone has used it so its not as if we are paying for repairs to the pitch.
How much can it cost the club to let a group into the dressing rooms, and onto the pitch???
Sure admin costs are involved, but over a grand each time?!!!
Even though you can spread the cost amongst two teams, you are still looking at a lot of money per person. Which is what deters more groups from doing it.
If you can't get enough people willing to splash out, then you are either going to cough up more amongst a smaller group, or the better option - not bother.
For fans to live their dream and score at the valley, i personally think the club should help and make that easier to achieve with fairer prices.
  • So what are you saying Jarman? Are you in or out ? Tee hee.

Hopefully our age group, eh Uncle ......?
  • I would love to but it depends on cost. Seem to remember checking before and it was ludicrously expensive.
  • Id love to be involved. Not if its too expensive though
  • The age group will hopefully be mixed we've got at least 8 of us in our 20s and we might get 3blokes playing to. It's just under £90 per person for the day and time we want. The experience of playing at the valley and all that comes with it I think it's worth it.

You thinking what i'm thinking Oggy? This seems like a plan. £90 count me in. I'll spend more than that going to watch them tomorrow.
