  • Asked the guy on the turnstiles he said there was about 1000 charlton fans there.
  • Nowhere near a thousand, 700 tops, your support is woeful
  • Haha OohAah's cousin is a Wednesdayite!

Out of interest how many people who post on here post on (not browse) other teams' forums on a regular basis?

I'm just bored of coming on here and seeing other team's idiots turn up and have a dig it's so tiresome
  • 700, pretty good these days. Long expensive trip from the south. Well done to those who made it

think the guy on the turnstiles saying a thousand would have a better idea of the figure

Would never be that sad/lonely and post on another club forum.

In agreement with your tiresome comment.

  • Even if it is 700, I think that's a decent effort. I bet half the Wednesday fans at The Valley live in London anyway.
  • I would have guessed we had about 1000 there. Considering the previous poor weather, I know a fair few that didn't book up on the train in case the match was cancelled and we lost more money. I think we would have taken more otherwise.
  • We may have only taken a few but we out sang them for about 70% of the match
  • From my view on the North Stand it looked quite sparse on the away end.

Unfortunately our club is rubbish at posting away figures

you can add that to taking penalties then ;-)
  • Touchè, but you could say it was an excellent save by Elliott.

Anyway enjoy the rest of the season and maybe see you in the play offs

Your 2500 you had at The Valley didn't make any noise for a crowd of that size, also I thought Hillsborough was suppose to be noisy, YES you sang "barmy army" which is a Cricket song, and 1 or 2 anti Sheffield United songs but that's about it, our 100 fans at the back of the stand made most of the noise I'd say.

Hmm the "barmy army" song originated at football, and with ourselves and West Ham in the 80's/90's not cricket, check it out, we were singing well before the barmy army became prominent.

Define noise, I never heard you sing once and I was sat in the stand to your left, level with the 18 yard line.

I may be being a tad harsh using the word woefuel, it is the 3rd tier I suppose and not many teams travel well
  • shock horror as home fans claim they didn't hear away fans and the away fans claim they didn't hear the home fans.

if you were on that side what was going on after your defenders two footed lunge on wagstaff? looked like morrison was having a row with some of the crowd?

  • Two footed lunge? he won the ball and it was the perfect tackle from the Radiator, didn't see Morrison and the fans thin g I was too busy applauding the tackle
  • i wouldnt say it was two footed but defo a scissor action. he got the ball but the follow through was out of order.

also, neil mellors head is massive.
  • You're a far bigger club then us Owl. Other than palace last season I imagine all the small London clubs such as ourselves take small numbers up north, you'll have more exiles in London than we'll have in South Yorkshire.

On another note, excluding The Valley, Hillsborough is my favourite ground in England.

    It's massive

i was impressed. like the single tier stands they have, especially the kop end. just a shame you cant get a beer in the away end.

That single tier stand was built in the 60s, the first full length cantilever stand in the country, still looks great today.

The Leppings Lane end (away end) should've been knocked down in 1989).
  • Second, Scunthopres old showground had the first cantilever stand

Agree about the away end, it should have been knocked down in 1989

The stand at the Old Show Ground wasn't a full length stand. I think Man Utd's North Stand was the next one but has been knocked down.
