thanks mate. Sorry for more questions, but as its a ground i've never been i was just wondering what its like, atmosphere and interesting wise? Also, seeing as we've played southampton as many times as we've played any other team in recent years, can we expect a good following, regardless of it being a night game?
Funny how the other day Adkins said they didn't have any room for the Boxing Day game until later in the season. Still no game on 29th either, Airman Brown gave the impression the manager has last say on when we play matches. So who is making these decisions?
I would like to think our lads will be a little bit more professional and not let the Man Utd game affect them. Last season our home form in the run up to Pompey was fantastic and that game is 1000x bigger than us playing United.

Yeah Leeds thought that as well last season and then proceeded to win about 1 of the next 12 games.

I was on about our build up to the game, I don't think it'll affect the players. They're playing for their places in that side to play vs Man Utd so will want to impress. I highly doubt we will beat them either like Leeds did. We will most probably get beat by at least 3 goals and then the only thing on the clubs mind will be the League.
Not sure why we requested it? Probably motivated by allowing Powell more chance to settle in get players in etc. And maybe for travel arrangements etc.

Will we have a new manager by then and more loans from Liverpoo-el....?
though (vaguely groping for positives) they have man utd the weekend then... can we catch them with an eye off the ball?
Still no game for us on the saturday
But wonder if soton will be distracted by the cup v Man U

As much as everyone will deny it no-one will want to get injured in a 50/50 or suspended and miss playing Man Utd a few days later
That explains the Swindon game then.
No doubt.
Plymouth, Saints, Rochdale, Colchester and Yeovil are now all in the space of 2 weeks.

Happy with that as I'm away on the 25th of January. :-)
also means a lot more away supporters likely to make the trip on a nice spring evening than a cold Jan one
