Rochdale v Charlton - Why Not Sat 29 Jan?

Now we both have afree saturday 29th jan how about both clubs pushing to play that game on this date.Would make more sense than the rearranged date of a Tuesday in March. What do other people think.

  • sound request mate, but I guess its down to the Clubs to organise it....fingers crossed.
  • fully agree, would prefer it then as would the majority of both fans I would imagine.

would make a very busy March- less busy and we'd get a better away turnout as trains do not run back from Manchester after the night game.

maybe airman may be able to shed some light on this possibility.
  • Rochdale said that they were disappointed at the postponement because a midweek trip meant a lot less Addickted day trippers.
  • or hartlepool on the same day?
  • [cite]Posted By: seth plum[/cite]or hartlepool on the same day?

Would not be bad but seen as we have a majorly busy March and it is a new ground for many- think most would prefer Rochdale to be re arranged.

Either way it would be crass stupidity NOT to play one or the other on that Saturday.
  • Can someone please change the thread title. I starting ringing round telling people before my wife read it and said it wasn't the case. Thanks.
  • Well I will certainly go if it's the Saturday. Tuesday much more difficult.
  • I'd be tempted myself
  • Could happen but bear in mind they will have other postponements.

Hope it isn't Rochdale personally because I've booked another lot of train tickets.

Do Rochdale already have a match on this date?
  • 29TH JAN 2010
    Rochdale v Notts Country
    Southampton v Charlton
Both off the other clubs in 4th round of cup. You also have to take into account Charlton will have to arrange another fixture with Southampton due to 4th round tie. One way or another it just does not make sense for Charlton to have a free saturday in january a play so many midweek matches in march.Sure Chris Parkes will do what is best for Charlton.
  • It's nothing to do with me, to be clear, but it might make sense to have a blank weekend. A new manager and new signings, hopefully, might benefit from more time to settle in. There is also the problem that this is a decision for the manager - and as of this moment we don't have one.
  • Thought (Sir)Keith of Peacock was Our caretaker Manager ?

  • Blimey. Sensible!!
  • Damnit, could have done without this,

Would have been more sensible to notice the possibility of the Saints game being postponed and hold fire on announcing the initially rearranged date in March until it was a certainty. Hope there's not too many who've paid for travel arrangements for March.
  • It is on the 29th now!!
  • common sense prevails, manager or no manager.
