Still sitting in the dark

edited January 2011 in General Charlton
We spent the whole of December speculating and wondering who the mystery new owners were. Would they be wealthy arabs or local business men with a few quid? After 31 sleepless nights, we finally got their names. That should have been the end of it, but no. Apart from their identity, we're still very much in the dark. This forum (and many others i imagine) is littered with post regarding possible new players and manager. But in truth, all we are doing is chewing the cud and spitting into the wind as we sit here guessing, and in too many cases getting carried away.

Let's face it, we know jack squat about how much money is availiable for future signings or indeed for a new manager. So why does everyone keep speculating about Hughton/Curbs/etc? surely we're just setting ourselves up for a fall.
Don't get me wrong, i too am sitting here dreaming "BIG" money and a return to the glory days as much as everybody else, but i think it's time for a reality check and stop counting those bloody chickens, we may just have some bad eggs..........

What? Are you saying that the Germans are coming? ?
  • Not a pleasant thought, eh?
Imagine that the new owners have sacked Parky on impulse, without a thought as to who will replace him nor the means to attract somebody worthwile.
    Damian Matthew, opportunity knocks.
  • Regardless of how big a name the new boss is, I think the most important qualities he requires are the ability to inspire the players and to get them playing positive, attractive football, the qualities Parky unfortunately seemed to lack.
