    @gjw23
Wish parky all the best4 the future, will walk str8 in 2 another job, gr8 job with us, only had 6 contracted players on 1st day of preseason
  • Some no doubt once the surprise of seeing Parky go will realise that the new owners might be bringing in a few new faces - not just on the coaching side but in the playing squad and may well be looking over their shoulders at who might replace them in the team. It'll be interesting to see who ups their game for Spurs and who doesn't...

But that will only be Peacock's choice.

The new permanent manager will no doubt think differently.
  • Great analysis, Muttley.

I believe I read in Mon night's programme that Martin used to be called "Chicken" when he was a young player due to his skinny legs....

Funnily enough, I've been calling him "Headless" for some time.
  • Many of you believe footballers to be more humble and unsure of their own ability than they are.
  • [cite]Posted By: bibble[/cite]Oh Behave! Thats the best laugh I have had in a long time. Abbots got the turning circle of the Titanic. I was gonna say he couldn't finish his dinner, but by the looks of him he's finished everyone else's!

Funniest thing I've read in along time on here!

I'm hoping that what happens is a few players who haven't needed to perform to keep their place in the team now buck thier ideas again, the team has shown what it can do when they perform, we just need it to happen for longer periods and more consistantly. Perhaps a bit of a fright about what players may or may not get signed could spur that on.

We deffinately need something special to happen on Sunday :-)

Thing is Teams don't allow you to play football in this Kick and Rush league do they but I'd welcome anything other then what Parky was playing, going one nil up then sit on it, we are not Arsenal of the 80's we don't have the players to play that kind of football!
  • What made me laugh was on the Swindon match thread i wrote something like.

"Changes, finally! Although i would rather he put on Sodje over Abbott. My gran is more useful than Abbott"

The first time the ball was passed to him he went to control it and it bounched up over his knee and straight past. I was in stitches. Then for the next 15-20 minutes he did miscontrols. Pathetic headers and one of the funniest shots ive seen for a while. Just inside the box, he seemed to strike it, with what seemed like so much power, but he mis kicked it and it trickled along to the keeper. Until his goal i was having a great time watching him. The goal ruined his performance for me. Which is ironic because the goal was actually pretty good!

I'd like to agree with you Stu, but what worries me is I would've thought the players should have been doing their best on Monday in front of the new owners AND in front of the Sky cameras. Didn't happen then so I just really hope they don't embarrass us again on Sunday.

You've got that the wrong way around haven't you? What has Sodje done this season? sod all. Abbot hasn't been given a proper chance In my opinion

  • Sodje is a bit more mobile than Abbott though. A bit faster aswell!

Its the equivalent of choosing who you would want up front out of Jim from eastenders or Patrick from eastenders. Patrick is just that little bit more mobile you see.

HAHA well considering if they are both still here and given a fair chance, lets see who scores more goals come the end of the season.
    It won't be Sodje
  • Both of them can leave, they are both equally as useless as the other one!!!
  • Sodje is a useful sub - Abbot is not the sort of player who can take us forwards. Before we lose players we need to bring some in though.
  • Very true.

But Parky did his best with the resourses at his disposal.

That's why he signed Akpo and Abbott, rather than Drogba or Tevez.
  • Muttley, great post been thinking the same for a long time, they lack any movement off the ball everybody is stattic leaving no option but to hit long hopeful balls to a centre forward that did not win one header ( if they managed to go anywhere near him ) so what do we do hit it long again.

sorry back to the thread, I bet there all thinking SHIT.

    LOL

They would know where they stood with Parky. They won't know where they stand now.
No harm to keep them guessing.
  • Nice tweet from Shelvey - not only "shocked at the news with the sacking of parky and the backroom staff , was all good people , wish them all the best !", but also checking with the kitman that he was still in a job!

Bless - his mum clearly did a good job :-)
  • I still reckon Peacock will go round and pick up the bibs & cones after the warm-up at our next game mind you.
