Why do you think that nolly? I've been searching for ages and not found any evidence that Jiminez is rich enough to spend millions buying a majority share in Charlton.

Its perfect for Curbs to come back,Burley the Cumnock boy can join 98% of his home town mates on the dole.PNE + Palarse need a manager so with a bit of shuffling we could get the messiah back.Surely Mrs Curbishley must be getting fed up with him being under her feet? Come on let him out to play!! lol

Thanks, did that. Still not sure whether it tells me enough. The point is this. I believe Tony Jiminez is richer than me and probably everybody on this Forum. But is he rich enough to be able to purchase controlling equity in a club costing, maybe, 30m? Maybe he is. But so far I'm not sure i see the signs of that. It slightly worries me when I read past articles talking about his 'meteoric' rise from "security manager" at Chelsea.
And then I would have another question. If he is so minted, why didnt he take equity in Newcastle? He seems to have taken on a salaried role, and then he was fired, with the ritual explanation "leaving to pursue other interests". if you are seriously rich, do you allow yourself to be humiliated in that way?
Just wondering so far, that's all. But i think its important.

Or just enjoy the moment?
How about, I'll scurry around so you dont have to :-)
Seriously, I am pleased that we've probably avoided admin, and that Parky maybe gets to reinforce the squad. Im pleased that Murray and Varney are on board. But history taught me that all kinds of bad things happen if we dont scrutinise every aspect of how our club is run. Maybe I'll start a new thread, so those who dont want to know, needn't be bothered by such questions.

But I don't think they paid anything for the club. Or have I misunderstood?

Slater said they paid a nominal amount (maybe similar to the £2 (two pounds) baton paid but had taken on the debt (Estimated from info given at EGM in Sept to be £16m long term and £5m for losses this season. in effect is has cost them £20m as that is the liability they have taken on even if much of that is long term debt (ie mortgage and the bonds which only kick in back in the prem).
Asking for clarification and more info does not mean, IMHO, that PA or anyone else is not happy or looking forward to a better future just that he, and I, are still interested in how the Club is run and owned and by whom?
For me Takeover, good, new owners, good, parky still here, good, Varney back, good, Murray still around good. All round Very Good start to the year.
