Strikers - BWP at Plymouth, they are in debt and don't have much choice, administration or they let their best players go.
Seip - we have him on loan, perhaps he could start a game or two and make a case for a permanent signing.
Racon/Semedo - their contracts are about to expire, get them signed up again.
Realistically we have to look at who could step up and play in the CCC next season. No one side in L1 looks like promotion certainties - along with us, Brighton, Huddersfield, Saints, Bounemouth have all had good runs but gone off the rails a bit in recent weeks. That leaves it all to play for.
That was definitely an awesome post, Wise Old Sage.
Shame you edited it .....it was a classic "I'm just back from the pub" posting.
Anyway, I was drinking plenty at 15, so you can't pull the wool over my eyes (we won't tell your Mum).
Austin is much better that Le Fondre so I'd much rather him
I actually think Austin is a superb player. Link up, heading, finishing and good mobility. also capable of creating chances for himself so our notoriously poor service wouldn't be the end of the world
Le Fondre is another fleetwood. Lower leagues at best
realistically we arent going to be able to afford austin, he will go to a championship side for a mil or two. le fondre may be an option but he has said he wants to finish the season with rotherham, but maybe we could lure him away by doubling his L2 salary?
A specialist left back, pacy who can overlap, that would allow Fry to move to cover CB and Matt Fry could then cover either position. Solly to get fit as he works well with Wagstaff. Then with x2 good wingers and over lapping full backs, we will be much more dangerous.
A creative midfielder. A proven striker who can score, Charlie Austin, don't know too much about Le Fondre. This will be helpful for Benson and there would be pressure off him to score. There will be more space for Benson and he will likely get more goals as well.
With x3 quality additions, I think that Parkinson may manage to get us promoted.
Football Rumours is at it again , here's the latest selection

31 Dec 2010 21:36:56 After the completion of the charlton takeover phil parkinson has now got a set amount of money to spend in January. The players Phil has his eyes on are : Marcel seip (Plymouth) Bradley wright Phillips (Plymouth) Adam la Fondre (Rotherham) Craig davies (Chesterfield) danny green (dagenham and redbridge) and finally jonathan Douglas (Swindon)
Charlton will sign midfielder Jon-Paul McGovern from Swindon
None of us know yet the real intentions of the new owners whoever that might be but promotion is a priority and without serious movement in the transfer market over the next few weeks I feel that our chances of promotion are at best evens but probably a little worse. The intention for the club to live within it's means as stated by Slater yesterday would mean if strictly true that none of the quality we need will be coming. However. If there is real intention to push forward and spend what would be sums outside our means then I think we can safely assume that the theory that there is hidden money behind Slater and Jiminez is true. Spending beyond our means without that hidden money would start to ring alarm bells for me. My guess and it's just a guess is that we are all going to be a little underwhelmed by our transfer activity.
My suspicion is that Slater/Jiminez have arrived with their own list of transfer targets (no doubt drawn up by Wise). They've all had long enough to think about it, after all.
Parky will have his own list of targets. But whatever we have been told about Wise's non-involvement, I bet J&S will - however informally - ask Dennis to run his slide-rule over them before they agree to spend money on any of Parky's targets.
The withering attack on Benson the other night by Steve Brown (who appeared to have been briefed on the takeover) suggests that the new regime are not impressed by Parky's talent spotting abilities ....
Charlie Austin and BWP 22 goals betwen them this season playing for teams in 18th and 15th position at the end of today. Would like to get Austin before Mondays game though!! BWP also as soon as possible. I think, sadly, Forch has not recovered fully and his time wih CAFC is up he seems to have lost his pace and his guile, perhaps a confidence thing?
I would sign Seip as cover, and also get a midfielder in who can find that all important defence splitting pass.
Nice to dream is'nt it?????
LB who is solid and experienced
CM who can carry the ball and drive forward with passing/movement
ST of the anyinsah pacey ilk who can stay fit
Might also need a short term in goal... concussions are strange things and I gather Ross Worner was questionable today after an injury in training yesterday
Would like to get Austin before Mondays game though!! BWP also as soon as possible
If I understand things correctly we can sign players but they can't play until it's an actual office day - today, tomorrow and Monday the offices are closed so players can't be registered so the paperwork won't be passed in time for them to play.

Thanks for the heads up BFR, lets hope that the current team can put on a Valley display on Monday and prove to the new owners that 'they' can get us promoted, if not then new players as soon as possible (funds allowing of course).
I reckon morrison is off from millwall. They said he had flu yesterday. Blatantly off to a premier league club. Rumours are Austin will go to millwall so can defo see this happening if Morrison has gone. Don't think I'd want bwp.

Another who I like the look of is Craig Davies at Chesterfield. Fits the big powerful striker mould and has 13 in 17 this season.
Spurs are also looking to loan Woodgate out ;-)

This one "link" sums up that site.....totally absurd.
Obika from Spurs is just what we need. I'd like to see Austin and McGovern from Swindon come in too.

Upfront
then we will go up fact
I reckon we'll get a striker in this window, the new owners want championship football next season
total rubbish the players are committed but confidence is shot and concentration not much better, noone can be pulled for effort though
LB who is solid and experienced
CM who can carry the ball and drive forward with passing/movement
ST of the anyinsah pacey ilk who can stay fit

Plus... no departures please!
charlie austin differnt sort of player altogether crafty, full of guile, brave and a poacher wth the odd special thrown in.
