So IF Parky had a couple of million to spend in Jan who would fill the gaps?

edited December 2010 in General Charlton
For me I think we are missing someone who can unlock a defence with a pass

With a wand for a left foot

Step forward Andy Reid

Also a young defender such as Mkandawire who can suckle the Dailly and Doherty knowledge teat

And Deano as player gk coach

Ideally a striker like Charlie Austin too

I reckon that could seal promotion

Would love to see Reidy back!

Wouldn't mind Benty coming back too!
• is this just wages or the fee before you add in wages?
• Prise away Adam Le Fondre from Rotherham and a young and capable centre back.
• I too loved Reid but am not sure where he would fit in . Left mid is now one of our strongest areas with Jackson and ( Kyel ) Reid . Also we have Herriott coming through.

This is my list of priorities

In my view we need a new keeper , maybe doubling as a coach . We had Andy Marshall on trial so what about him. I'd like Worner to get some games on loan somewhere.

Is Marcel Seip decent ? If he is then maybe he could provide the right sided CB and RB cover . I would certainly sacrifice Llera to go on loan somewhere to facilitate this. I'd like Gary Borrowdale back as Left Back . This could allow Fry to go into the CB mix and mean Jacko stays LM.

After this a creative cm and another striker
• Andy Reid on a 6 month loan would be great. Just for a laugh, stick your tactician's hat on....would you trust him in the centre of a four man midfield or would you play five to accomodate someone like him? Or would you stick him out on the left wing? Do you think we be good enough to give him the ball in the right areas or would he end up coming so deep to get it off Doherty, he'd lose his effectiveness? Personally I'd give someone like him a free role in a five man midfield but only if we had a quick forward (say Anyinsah).
• A striker like Le Fondre/Austin

A new right back.

Surely new owners will allow Parky to spend a bit of money
• ANY centre half with pace.
• Tevez......We're a little bit closer to Argentina then manchester......;-)
• a playmaking midfielder please...someone who encourages us to play the game properly.

Grant McCann from Peterboro...Mark Pugh from Bournemouth.....Stuart Campbell from Bristol Rovers?
• I would like to see an experienced steely central midfielder/ As much as I like Semedo and Racon they do lack experience and we at least need back up there. the rpoblem we have had for a long time is that opposition when they get in our midfields faces are able to play through it. Who this mysterious midfielder is I have no idea.

• A right sided version of Johnnie Jackson, someone that would allow us to play Reidy, without having to go all out with 2 orthadox wingers.

A centre back with pace.

A ball-playing centre mid - someone to offer a bit of competition to Racon.

A striker to add competition to Anyinsah and Benson - Abbot isn't doing it for me, and Sodje is just too injury prone and unreliable.
• Kevin Phillips on loan for th rest of the season.
• Le Fondre, an older head in our Goalkeeping ranks, a new CB with pace to cover in behind people like Doherty and maybe an attacking midfielder, someone like Nasri or Milner but slightly cheaper ;)
• I don't want to get into wish list territory, because the takeover might go tits up or it may turn out to be very modest meaning that we won't be able to go shopping in January. I make people here right in what they think the team needs, but if I start thinking that it is going to happen, then I am setting myself up for another Charlton-based fall...and there's been so many of those in the past few years that it might just finish me off!

I concur
• Left back with attacking intent and bit of pace is no1 for me- then a striker with power and pace is no 2. I think that would be likely to get us promotion alongside the players we already have.
• GK Coach, maybe doubling up as emergency keeper if Robbie gets another injury or to let Worner get some games on loan perhaps.

Fry on loan till end of season
Someone in the centre of midfield to really unlock defences and add that creative spark especially at home.
Striker- Phillips would be great but if we have money maybe someone longer term.
• A right back a striker that scores and cb as I assume JF will get the elbow
•
[cite]Posted By: EGAddick[/cite]ANY centre half with pace.
This and Charlie Austin alongside Benson - would make a great partnership as both 2 different players.

• A goalkeeper
A left back
Young centre back
Midfield playmaker
Striker
• Kevin Phillips
Andy Reid
John Eustace
Danny Shittu

If we could pay the wages, i reckon them 4 would guarantee us promotion.
• If we had a few million, i wouldn't give it to Parkinson.
Do need a young pacy centre back
Centre midfielder who can hold a ball
Charlie Austin.
• I'm with Robbo. I would be very reluctant to hand over that sort of cash to parky.
• Le Fondre (If Rotherham don't try and bleed us dry)
A fit Chris Solly at RB OR Was very impressed with Walsalls RB, would have to have another look at him to make a call though.
Couple of CB (JF and Miguel down the road)
AND
Someone that can make it happen in the midfield. Unlock defences...
• LeFondre/Austine
Bradley Wright-Phillips
A pacy centre back
A competant rightback
If there's any money left over, a box-to-box midfielder

I'm with you on this one Bigstemara , but for the sack of wishful thinking , Charlie Austin and Adam Le Fondre , could / should get us out of this division , but who knows if the takeover will happen , whether there will be a significant transfer budget , whether Parky will still be in charge , a lot can happen between now and end of Jan.
