  • More comps than usual today because of the expected poor turnout. Doesn't appear that they were used in any number, which is perhaps just as well.
  • does the official attendance not carry tax implications though?
  • northstandjoe counted 98
  • I counted 120 - boy we must have been bored!
  • Would only opening one or two blocks of the away stand save money on policing or stewarding as oppose to opening the whole thing?

I'm sure the club would have thought about this but thouht I'd ask anyway.
  • LeftBehind counted 110 from the back of the North Upper.

He posts some rubbish on here but boy has that fella got impression vision ! :-)

(i counted 90-odd with me goggles on)
  • No tax implication. The club will already pay VAT on unused season tickets but has the revenue and there is no revenue on comps to tax.

The away fans were restricted to two blocks of the JS stand, but there is no significant cost saving.
  • I counted 108 a couple must of been in the toilet.
  • maybe some came disguised as stewards

thanks for the answers...I guess we must have a tax attendance and an official attendance figure then which includes comps wether they are used or not.....

  • Revenue and Customs isn't interested in the attendance, only the revenue, for VAT purposes.

The attendance, as announced, is reported to the Football League, with revenue broken down by into price categories, home/away and STs/match tickets and comps.

Every attendance at every ground will include a significant number of comps, although it's fair to say that yesterday's would have been exceptional by our standards or any other.
  • Cheers mate, its nice to be able to understand how it works as it was clear we had nowhere near that number in the ground yesterday.
