edited December 2010 in General Charlton
i was watching sky sport the other day saw that the figures for
The number of people arrested for football-related disorder fell by 10% last season

i had a look online at and found the figures if any one was intrested:

http://www.homeoffice.gov.uk/publications/crime/football-arrests-banning-orders/

  • where's the column for bogroll-related offences?
  • More surprised at Grimsby ....... 76
  • what ever they ban you for this day
  • I expect the Birmingham City figures will be rising sharply after yesterday.

vast majority for their pitch invasion and kicking off at Burton away last season I'd imagine

And the villa's as well... the seats, the flare, the interior damage to the ground
  • not surprise about millwall and leeds figures im trying work out the averge arrest per match
  • Our OB were quite proactive last season in clamping down on the known faces. The 3 games with Norwich, Gills and Hudds probably accounted for nearly all of ours. Although the latter was eventually thrown out before the trial started.
  • Is it really only 16 sure i know more than 16

  • Good to see Charlton up there with the big boys at something at least!!
  • 13 home arrests all season? I remember when we used to get more than that in one game. Sergeant Ward's match-day record must be close to this. He could nick you weeks after the event having clocked your face but having his arms full at the time - he could nick three people at once. No need to worry about the difficulty of explaining this in court, he'd just say it was that game instead whether there was any trouble or not.
  • Surely arrests overall would tell us more about behaviour rather than banning orders which obviously only reflects serious behaviour at games.
  • Good to see the Geordies ane Scousers living up to stereotypes, top of the league for being pissed and touting respectively. Unfortunately there were no categories for hubcap nicking and taking your top of in the middle of winter to prove how hard you are.
  • Im surprised to see the missile throwing and racist chanting aren't one of our sins. Being drunk while in a football stadium is the most stupid. Its like having one beer and the ob talking to you and saying if you carry on speaking to us we will nick you for drunken disorderly.
  • I make you right leftbehind, there always seems to be faults with these figures.

About this time last year I seem to remember 40+ (the bulk of the group) being on bail for the 3 said incidents. Can only think the fact that most were resolved after the season finished had something to do with it. Bearing in mind 10 were arrested for Hudds in Greenwich I'm pretty sure 16 is an incorrect figure.
  • .....Oh and fruad, by buying kids tickets instead of adult tickets
  • freudlian slip there se9..........
  • Southampton away there were a number of arrests

In fairness to the Geordies, with the numbers they take away and the distances they have to travel, it's hardly surprising they've got the highest number of alcohol related arrests.

  • yeah i saw at least 5 at st marys
  • Slightly off topic but this thread just triggered a memory (it sometimes happens). Can anyone here remember the extemely tall copper with the moustace who used to "patrol" the north stand during the early 90's? Always smiling whilst looking for a collar and seemed to revel in the good natured banter that was constantly aimed at him. That as proper community policing, not the faceless humourless side of policing we now get.

The most telling statistics are violent disorder arrests and the home & away stats.

They tell you what clubs are still active or are being clamped down on and the home & away stats show that Millwall is one of the safest grounds to visit nowadays (whether you lot will admit that or not) and that Cardiff's new ground and how it's policed has had a massive impact on trouble there.
  • Only because they keep you locked in like a bunch of animals for 3 days after the Final whistle.

Or maybe because 27 of your 40 arrests were away from home and over 80% of your arrests are for violent disorder you were kept in to save us from being attacked by you.......
