Silly transfer rumours already

edited December 2010 in General Charlton
it's very quiet at work, so I thought I'd have a look and see what players we are being linked with, now the take over is looking imminent. Our old friend Football-Rumours has a beauty!

  • Ronaldo will be coming soon - the fat one with the transvestites that is
  • The January transfer window will be fun, we will be linked with every available player!

Anyone else thinking yeah but he could do a job for us though?? ;-)

    Of course we won't!
  • Amusing nonsense! Song is quality and would NEVER play in League One (obviously). Just goes to show that the Twazzocks that run that site will print absolutely anything.
  • Loan move for Nicky Bailey on the cards.

Matt fry to become a permanent signing to help West Hams financial problems.

Nah they won't - I sent in a rumour that we were about to sign Bromley U18 starlet Ben Hayes, they didn't go for it.
  • Get Racon and Semedo signed up + a decent striker. Happy days.

Alex Song playing in League 1! Paul McCartney taking us over (after today who knows?) all on the same site, so I guess they will print (almost) anything!!

Nice of you to be so open about it but can we stick to transfers ;-)

No chance of getting Bailey if Charlton have to pay his wages.

Not sure Matt Fry is really a finacial burden to West Ham. Not saying the move wont become permanent but that wont be the reason.

    .............

In the scheme of things there are far greater savings that can be made than selling a promising youth product who's likely to be on lowish wages and who they'll need in the Championship next season. But the transfer fee might come in handy.

If Charlton do sign players in the window then I hope we go for quality and youth, there's a lot of the current squad who I doubt will be capable of making the step up to the Championship next season.
  • Wouldn't want Bailey back, never felt the balance was quite right wherever we played him. Jackson, Wagstaff and even Racon have scored goals from midfield this season, Reid and Martin are also capable of getting a few.

Squad depth would be useful. If we have a couple of postponements we could easily have more weeks where we play a number of games in a short space of time.

I think we would need a new Keeper . I agree Worner did well but would be worried if Robbie was injured for a long spell . I'd also like Worner to play games on loan somewhere . There always seems to be clubs who need to loan Keepers in emergencies and it would be good for Worner in the long term.

Because of Youga's injury defensively I would like a proper Left Back as cover for Fry so Jackson can stay in midfield . A return for Borrowdale could tick this box , he has not played this year for QPR and was reportedly available for a loan . We need Jacko staying up pitch either on the left or providing cover for Racon and Semedo in the middle.

I would be happy to trade Llera to keep Fortune / Seip .Miguel will be out of contract in the summer and I cannot see him getting another one and he might be an attractive option for a club in League One / Two or back in Spain in the window.
  • I'd rather keep Big Mig than Fortune
  • No to Bailey. He'd unbalance us
West ham would be bonkers to sell Fry. He's on peanuts to them and is a good prospect
Big mig over fortune for me too
Racon and Semedo would be perfect

But if we went for anyone id like someone like Austin. He's big, mobile and scores all sorts of goals.

In reality we know nothing about our prospective owners so any talk of signings is very premature right now

That's because you only have to look at Ben, everyone can see that Ben is not under 18 (stone).

  • Centre back under 36 and a centre forward with a name that sounds like he's good...
  • Bradley-Wright -Phillips? He can score in this league.
  • We need good for the league above us too, we need the Craig Bellamy of league one. ;-)
