Two things I noticed this weekend.

edited November 2010 in General Charlton
There were seven Premiership games played on Saturday afternoon, and our Premiership gate would have been higher than four of them. Also the top ticket at Arsenal is about to reach £100, that's a bit of a shock for a man who remembers Johnny Haynes becoming the first £100 a week footballer. I am trying to assess just what is happening to the glorious game when Club's are moving beyond the reach of thousands of families and in particular young kids, whilst quite ordinary players are allowed to become very rich beyond their talents in my view unnecessarily. Will we eventually become a nation of TV supporters ?
