Since the Brighton debacle five games ago something seems to have clicked in Parky’s and the players’ minds. The team has recorded 4 out of 5 wins, kept 4 clean sheets, progressed to the semi finals of a cup competition and even squeezed into the draw for the second round of the FA Cup. We’ve scored nine goals and seemingly found a partnership up top that looks like it could fire us somewhere close to promotion.
Currently sitting a single point behind the automatic promotion places and level with Saturday’s opponents Peterborough it is essential that the team continues this current decent run of form. After Saturday’s game we have five very winnable games leading up to a potential crunch clash with Southampton on Boxing Day – who knows where we could be sitting come then?
Peterborough have a decent home record with 5 wins and 2 defeats but they do concede goals. On average they are shipping in 2.14 goals at home per game (although they are scoring an impressive 3 per game) so we should expect goals and considering our excellent recent defensive displays we should be confident of getting something out of the game.
I fully expect Parkinson to stick with the team that served him so well in the displays against Wednesday and Swindon away. A few players were rested in the victory against Southend on Tuesday so we should be raring to go. Hopefully the likes of Racon and Jackson can continue their rich vein of form and I’d expect Wagstaff to exploit the obvious deficiencies in the Posh backline.
Away day goalscoring specialist Benson and Joe Anyinsah are surely going to cement themselves as the “First Choice Strike Partnership” and should be confident of adding to their totals.
If we approach this game believing we can win then I believe we will get something out of it, I do however think our defence will be breached for the first time in a while.
One for your Pools Coupon. 2-2.

Oh, go on then, us.
but not a problem we're gonna be in the play offs, no matter what the result tomorrow and you can quote me on that
if we can win, then parky ought to be pushing for a new contract, a draw and most of us would be happy, a defeat - well you can't win them all but a heavy defeat and cl crashes and we all do our parky hokey cokey threads again.
2-0 home win.
Do it all season please lol.
This ill go for 2-2, although think we could sneak a 3-2
Come on you addicks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Peterboro would've had us watched recently and picked up on how to make a leaky defence watertight.
If they are I fancy a draw from this one.
After Brighton I really believed the potential was there to loose 4 on the trot in the league.
