I don't have to tell amybody how frustrating it has been watching us this season. The frustration derived from the fact that we have good players but we just didn't have the balance. It also came from the fact that you could see what was wrong and what we needed - a little more help in midfield without compromising our attacking play and pace and power up front. I remember thinking that this is all that was stopping us being a very good team at this level. I wasn't worried defensively - I knew that if we fixed the above issue the quality and experience in the back would be an asset. So it could be argued our best result of the season was the Brighton game - It forced the changes that have produced teh magic ingredients.
Of course it was clear Anyinsah looked like he could be the sort of player with power and pace that we were missing but nobody thought he would be quite as effective as he is. He is the League 1 Didier Drogba - what a fantastic result -bit of good fortune - he transforms us and really gets the best out of Benson who is turning out to be an inspired bit of business from the manager we were beginning to doubt only a few weeks ago. Then Reids injury at that Brighton game forced a change where effectively we are no longer palying with 2 out and out wingers. I believe if you play that way, you need to create loads of chances to justify it and teams set up to nullify it by outnumbering our middle 2. Now Jackson is providing more support to the middle and we are seeing High end championship players in Semedo and Racon having that bit more time and support to show their ability.
Fry playing so well at left back is the other player that has transformed us. So maybe Parky took a bit too long to make the changes, and maybe the thrashing at the hands of the league leaders forced his hand- but make the changes he did - and the inspired signing he has made is for all to see. The trick will be to keep Anyinsah fit -if we can do that I fell exciting times are ahead this season.
COYRs and wwell done Parky.

He also deserves a lot of credit for bringing Fry back in on loan and for signing Jackson, Anyinsah and Benson.
I often remember Curbishley seemingly stumbling upon the right line-up/ formation at about this time of the season in the Prem - sometimes due to an injury or suspension that led to an enforced change, but which then brought about an upturn in performance. Maybe it's luck, maybe it's good management. I'll take either!
