Pre-war but he stuck away 16 goals in his 450 appearances - better than Barry Endean
  • Brian Kinsey?
  • John Sewell?
  • Derek Ufton?
  • [cite]Posted By: gilbertfilbert[/cite]Phil Warman? Don't remember him scoring many.

Scored 16 times - he played on the left wing for a while. Far better than Barry Endean.
  • Jock Campbell?
  • Marvin Hinton?
  • John Sewell - Five goals in 185 games
Derek Ufton - never scored to qualify
Brian Kinsey - 19 goals in 377 games - started as a left winger and scored a few
  • Brian Tocknell?
  • [cite]Posted By: LenGlover[/cite]Jock Campbell?

    Take a bow, Len.......1 goal in 255 games....he's our no.1.

    1. Jock Campbell (1 goal 255 games)
    2. Don Townsend (1 goal 249 games)
    3.
    4. Gordon Jago (1 goal in 137 games)

True. I'd sort of forgotten that -- might also be true of my other suggestion, Brian Kinsey.

  • Tocknell had a good strike rate 1 goal every 16 games
Hinton scored 2 in 131 games but not good enough
  • Bert Johnson...
  • The great William Johnson of course ;-)

Depends what book you are reading....scored against Fulham17thnov 1945 and against Huddersfield 2ndnov 1946 .
played 162 games scored twice that puts him below Peter Reeves who is fifth in the list.
Colin Cameron wrote both books.God bless him. With out his books where would we be.
  • Goals to games surely Jerome Thomas was woeful as a frontman?
  • [cite]Posted By: RedZed333[/cite]Bert Johnson...

Yep, it's Bert according to the records I have. So, that's

    1. Jock Campbell (1 goal 255 games)
    2. Don Townsend (1 goal 249 games)
    3. Bert Johnson (1 goal 142 games)
    4. Gordon Jago (1 goal in 137 games)
    5. Peter Reeves (2 goals in 268 games)

  • Semedo could be putting pressure on that top 5 soon.
  • Well, Sam Bartram didnt manage a goal in 579 appearances, but for outfield players

Steve Thompson failed to score in 90 appearances and Don Townsend score 1 in 249 games. Chris Powell only scored 1 in 200 games in his first spell at the club. Peter Reeves managed 2 in 264 appearances. Don't tell Len, but Kish managed 2 goals in 179 appearances. Barry Endean deserves special mention though - 1 goal in 27 games.
  • Think Powell scored twice (both against Spurs) first time round.
  • Derek Ufton
  • Didn't Warman score against Coventry when they first went up 1967? ish
  • Steve Thompson failed to score in 90 appearances
Oh no he didn't - he scored against QPR at "home" midweek in the cup - the game when the lights went out.
  • How many other stats have you got wrong in this thread then tma?
