The Season so far.................

edited October 2010 in General Charlton
3 points off 2nd place.
Unbeaten at home.
1 defeat in last 7 games
strikers starting to score - team starting to settle -

All this, with a crowd of journeyman and several old timers.

To be honest, Mourhino couldn't have done it.

  • Sounds good when you hear it like that dont it. Now the test really starts with the upcoming fixtures.
  • We've played all of the bottom four and beaten only one of them. Hardly promotion form.

In the main it's been duller than a dull thing but I'm pleased we are still hovering around the play-off zone. There have been at least a few signs that we could get it together.
  • Well said Masicat - refreshing to see a little positivity for once.

Not a lot of difference from last year, Gillingham home, orient home, brighton home, Wallsall away, tranmere home.
  • An average of 2 points a match over a season will get automatic promotion 99 times out of 100.

We are presently -6 with a lot of new players. Now is the time to try and kick on as hopefully the players are now getting used to each other. Win at home draw away = 2 points per game. Hopefully we can keep a decent home record going and perhaps pick up a few "bonus" points with some away wins.
  • I am very optamistic lately, the teams been gelling finally and i think if we can get a good amount of point from the next hard 4-5 fixtures we will push on and do well. i hope for a 2nd finish, or at least top 6! COYR
  • Well, these are the teams that are around us - so if we get points from them, then we can make progress up the league at their expense.

Optimism not allowed on here - FACT ;-)
  • Been moaning about PP but I am wiping the slate clean. We have had IMHO Parkys grace period now with a new team bedding in and with 25% of the season behind us it is time for the team to show some consistency and for PP to prove he has what it takes. No doubt an indifferent set of results over the next few games will again cloud the issue because even on paper the fixtures look tough. Now is the time Mr. Parkinson.
