So where does this leave you, Large?
In a quandary, no doubt. ;-)

We also got 4 points against Tranmere, Brentford, Exeter, Oldham, Yeovil and Walsall.
Those draws, along with the other two draws are the ones I was thinking of. That's 8 draws isn't it? They were teams we were "supposed" to beat if we wanted to get promoted. But we were in the top 6 all season with those results, which were no doubt considered not good enough at the time.

A few results like those are fine along the way. We just had a couple more than we should have last season.

You've only got to look at Leeds, who during the second half of the season were dropping points right, left and centre to lower half teams. Remember them losing at home to Walsall, for example ..... and points dropped at Hartlepool, and several other struggling teams.

But despite this, they just scraped promotion - mainly thanks to their magnificent first half of the season run.
  • Yeovil, Bristol Rovers, Walsall, Rochdael and Hartlepool are going to be a different proposition from the teams we have just played, i suspect packingb their defences and lumping the ball. Whilst we should get at least 9 points and hopefully 15, we will need to be able to break down defences that will be happy to sit back.
  • The trick is for us to get the early goal.

Opponents can't then sit back in numbers, they've got to try and get something from the game.
They'll have to push upfield and take risks at the back - and we have pacy players to pick them off during the break and get the vital second.

    Well, that's Plan A ......... ha ha
