I think we're behind Plymouth v Exeter and Rotherham v Huddersfield for glamour/TV purposes. Could well be behind Wednesday v Hartlepool and Swindon v Brentford too, depending on results between then and now.
Very pleased with the draw as you'd have to say Southend are probably the worst side left in our section. Now we've got past a couple of rounds i hope Parky sticks with a strong side and doesn't decide to rest players.
I'm sure the draw is regionalised to some extent. In the last round Exeter went to Hereford and Plymouth went to Cheltenham which are both much closer than sending those sides to London.
On a side note, does anyone know what is happening with Southends new stadium, read somewhere it was due to be open this year but I am assuming the finances have put pay to it even being started let alone finished.
cafcdan 18 In short Southend are screwed. They have sold Roots Hall to Sainsburys and dont have the money to build at Fossets Farm, although they do have planning permission.
Sainsburys have already started to move in at Roots Hall and have started to build the underground petrol storage silos they need for the petrol station when thry build the supermarket. If Southend stay at Roots hall until the end of the seaon they will have done well.
The local authoritioes are starting to see the benefits of not having a football club in the area, what with the budget cuts that are about to happen. A groundshare with Col U is a no go what with the essex rivalary. The other local non league clubs grounds are not upto league standard.the best Southend can hope for is a ground share with Dagenham.
Lets enjoy the visit to Roots hall it could well be our last!
Southend United (a - Johnstone's Paint Trophy) - Tuesday, November 9th (7.45pm)
The price of tickets for Charlton's regional Johnstone's Paint Trophy match against Southend has been agreed with the Shrimpers.
Admission to Roots Hall will cost Addicks fans £8 adults, £6 over 60s and £3 U16s.
Tickets will go straight on general sale when they arrive from Southend, although this probably won't be until early next week.

Southend fan come in peace Can you give more details on the sainsbury's already starting work on the petrol storage silos .I'm not saying you are wrong, but this is news to us and I would ahve though we might have noticed soem rather big holes in the ground.
re other posters comments on atmosphere, unlikley IMO to be as good as last year as you have sold the ginger tosser who did so much to galvanise the Southend supporters vocal chords
750 is that it? there away stand can hold up to 2,000 cant it if i remember from last year ?
I know its JPT, but alot of people seem up for Southend away, If we do sell the 750, Do you think Southend will increase our tickets to 1,500 or something like that?

Maybe, but Sky are showing 2 premiership games on tuesday and wednesday of that week.
May still get on tv, probably Skysports 3 or 4.

Didn't think it had, maybe it was on footballgroundguide but sure they said it was "supposed" to be ready this year.

I think you will also find that 750 will be plenty.
I am buying on the night.
from posts on here I thought we'd be taking thousands to Barnet ;-))
Good luck with that, over a week to go with 95 tickets left, will be sold out by the weekend unless they increase the allocation.
We took around 2000 to the league game last year from my recollection.
