In a box up at St James Park. The game we won 4-3. I was a guest and i don't think they liked a girl going crazy every time we scored. I went ballistic when the fourth went in. That game was the best comeback i had seen.
In the old days (1970's), I quite often stood in the south terrace (old Jimmy Seed) with away fans. It depended who we played. If the away side brought a few, you were more at risk from a kicking standing there from Charlton fans. I can also remember getting some serious verbals and threats from Cardiff fans. Not much changes.
I watched us play Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the late 70's and stood in the Shed. I was cacking it and a managed to stifle a cheer when Killer scored.
I went to Ipswich in 1999 as guest of my Bank Manager and sat amongst the home fans.
As for the Old Den, it was totally unreal. I never stood in the away stand, it was safer to be in the home areas although not Cold Blow lane end. You stood amongst blokes who clearly watched Charlton as well as Millwall. It was hard to tell who was who but I remember thinking that I was standing with some Charlton fans (no scarves). When Millwall scored they all leaped about. I was quieter after that, and silent when we scored our equaliser. The menacing atmosphere was palpable.
I went to the New Den a few years ago and sat in a home area with my Millwall mate. That was the game in which that useless C*NT Mike Small played. I managed to contain my excitement when we scored and politely applauded the Spanners goals.
I sat in the North Bank upper when we won 4-2 at Highbury with my dad and he got some tickets through work i think. We both jumped up as Steve Brown scored our equaliser as it was so unexpected, and we sat down pretty sharpish. The second goal I remember standing up and cheering a bit but my Dad stayed silent and managed to pull me down to my seat.
At half time my Dad's mate who supported arsenal overheard a steward saying " Theres two charlton down near the front there, keep an eye on them" so my Dad had a quiet word in my ear saying in the unlikely event of more goals to keep it shut. When Jensen chipped in i remember turning and smiling and whispering "WHAT a goal". As the fourth went in i just leaned on my dad and he pushed me off him and sat there as straight backed and proper as he could, albeit with a massive grin on his face.
I have also been a to a few cup games at Palace with mates who support them and cheered on the opposistion. The best story from them is in the carling cup a few years back they were playing Doncaster, i was with a two mates, one charlton and one palace and we were sat front row behind the goal. Palace had just gone one nil up, donny came at them on the break and some neat passing left a player with an open goal from 6 yards. Both me and my charlton mate were up, arms aloft running to cheer when the dingus hit the bar, we paused a second, looked at each other then just started giving the player some stick to try and disguise ourselves.
I saw Charlton draw 2-2 with Millwall in the Anglo-Italian in 1993 at The New Den and sat with my ex-girlfriend (a Spanner) in the Millwall end.
They went 2-0 up and were tearing us apart until Carlo stuck a leg out and pulled a goal back right in front of where we were sitting just before half-time and then in the second half Kim Grant fired home a terrific shot from 20 yards into the top corner in front of all the Charlton fans to make it 2-2.
Christ, I somehow managed to stay in my seat but was boiling up inside and would have given anything to have swapped ends and been in the middle of the celebrations!
Dont know if this counts, in my book it does! I stood on the Sainsburys end at Selhurst to watch us play Blackburn on Boxing day, they brought about 28 fans that day. I used to stand in the Holmesdale end but for some reason I stood at the Sainsburys end this day, didnt feel right at all.
Sat in Chelsea end a few time due to free tickets from work.Bought tickets for the Bristol Rovers game at bath in their end along with about 50 others back in the early 90s what a mare that was, was unable to watch most of the game!Spurs a few times also once in a box again due to free tickets, always hated it though
Has been other games but that was part of growing up in them days
Well I remember being stuck for a game, so decided to watch Gills v Rotheram must of been best part of 15 years ago. Decided as I hated Gills so much I'd join the Rotheram fans all of about 100 of them. I stuck out a bit with my accent but explained that I was a Rotheram supporter for the day & they taught me a few songs which I joined in with. Even better Rotheram won 2-0 so great day all round.
I sat in the jimmy seed stand/away end at the old valley when you could go all round the ground in the early eighties for chelsea, cardiff, boro, leicester...... the innocence of youth !
was in chelsea end behing goal when we won on penalties.... very funny... spurs away when we won 1-0 late on .... 5-3 defeat at highbury there were quite a few charlton in the arsenal end that day...newcastle end years ago(club arranged flight and meal for fans with tickets in newcaste end) for a midweek win.. luton when it was home fans only...
Went to Brighton and Hove Albion at the Goldstone Ground in the early 70's with my dad, uncle and cousin and stood in the Brighton End. Didn't have any trouble in the ground, it was when we was leaving that's when the problems arose. A large number of Charlton had left the game to confront the Brighton faithful and we got caught up in it. My uncle and cousin never went to another game after that.
I stood on the kop behind the goal at Sheff Weds once, right at the back. It was like watching a subbeteo match. We drew 0-0 and Leaburn missed a sitter. Dunno what I would've done if he'd scored.
Also stood on the halfway line at Millwall when we drew 2-2 there back in our mid-eighties promostion season. I was only fairly young at the time so never went up when we scored, but I remember being surprised by just how many people there were around me who did!
Aye - QPR in the promotion season. Couldn't get a ticket for love nor money, so rocked up on the off chance and sat in with the 'Sooopaaah - Hoops-aaaah'.
We drew 1-1 - they scored first, then Maddix made a ricket and Robbo equalised. I couldn't stop meself and jumped up, before remembering where I was and shouting "YYYYYEEEEE...oooooou useless arsehole Maddix..."
Made it all the way through to the end, with about two minutes to go a massive QPR fan came and put his shovel-hand on my shoulder and asked me what it was like to sit in the away end in my own ground... thought I was about to get me shwede caved in but they all just laughed and took the piss out of me for the last five minutes.
I'd never do it again - it was purgatory.
i also sat in with the Arse when i went against manYoo a few years back - my mate is a massive Red - it was the game where Wright jumped on Schmeichel's leg. Fuck knows how he escaped a beating that day - the second united goal was incredible - the Arse had a corner and five seconds later the ball was in the back of their net. I looked round at mne mate and he had a massive grin on his face - 30 seconds later a cockney red got the shit tarred out of him about ten rows behind us.

I was on the half-way line as well. Kept quiet but it was obvious when they equalised and the spanners were going mental and we're just standing there. Been in a box behind the Sainsbury's end when Bowyer score at Sellout and in with the Chelseas when Bartlett scored to win 1- 0.
Being in Directors box is weird as you are in with other Charlton and can go up when you score but you are surronded by away fans who just love looking at you for a re-action when their lot score.
I've been in the Millwall end 3 times now, Arse one, Spuds once.
At Millwall we went ahead first and my mate had to remind me to sit down. It didnt stop my little cousin, who was in with us (went with some spanner relatives) must have been 8, but was Charlton mad and was jumping like a little nutter!
thought we would all get the crap kicked out of us but we were fine!
Stood up and cheered at both the Arse and Spuds, think we lost to the Arse and drew with the spuds. didn't get any grief at all!!
[cite]Posted By: Hillsy's Up[/cite]Millwall away I was in the Millwall end when we was 2-0 up and Millwall scored 2 in the last few minutes......Gutted
I was on the half way line for that game. Decided to leave early (for safetys sake). Their first goal went in as I was on the walkway to the exit. Didn't see the second one but heard it!
I was on the Kop at Anfiled in the 80s when we lost 3-2 in a midweek game. The Scousers were lucky, I think Gillespie got their winner.
Luton during the 'away ban' - more Charlton at an away game than usual!
I sat in a block of Man Utd at the G-Mex once for the Soccer 6 tournament - does that count?
It was the tournament after we'd won it, so was a couple of years after (as I seem to remember it not being played the year after we won - coincidence?) We got the tickets from Man U as Charlton weren't selling any and then ended up playing them that day - and beating them! I remember getting a bit of grief off the Mancs all around us, but nothing bad.
The Shed at Chelsea when we won 3-2 in the Seventies (I was with my Charlton supporting Dad and Chelsea supporting brother in law - who was also a Met detective at the time, so s'pose felt a bit safer because of that...coz it was very difficult not to let on!
The Kop at Anfield the day Colin Walsh made his debut - we lost 2-0 I think.
The Valley did not have much segregation even in the 80's unless a London team was playing I can remember us loosing 5-1 to Rotherham (1984?? may be earlier). At half time went and sat with the Rotherham fans in the Jimmy Seed, they were obviously enjoying it more than us.
at senegal fields in a box full of millwall mates.1-0 up it was great then to lose 2-1 was devastating.got utterly caned and then some mugs were trying to climb into our box.i turned down the game in the snow.
In the Junior section of the Library in the 80's. We lost , went with my then boyfriend & his Dad who were mad Woolwich reject fans. I felt like I was in a coal bunker as the view was at pitch level & I remember thinking even then, 'How can a manager manage a game from the touchline????'
I sat in the Jimmy Seed when we beat the spuds 3-1 in 2002. God was that agony, those who know me are aware of how much I hate Tottenham. All I could do was keep bashing my mate on the leg as goal after goal went in. I think Poyey got a really late one for them and I even gave him a sarcastic cheer and called him a wanker.
Also ended up in the home bit away when we beat them 3-2 and I couldn't control myself for that one, almost got got my head stoved in by about twenty really brave spuds by the train station. The fella sat next to me and said after Thomas got the third, how the fuck are we losing to these. They can't do anything away from home. With the biggest shit-eating grin I turned back unable to answer him. He saw the funny side and I even joined in singing 'you're not fit to wear the shirt' to the Tottenham players. Saw Marcus score on his debut at Stamford bridge last year too. Managed to keep quiet somehow, down to shock more than anything else I think!
Night game at The Valley against qpr when we were champions. Home end sold out so got tickets for me and a mate in the jimmy seed stand. We sat in the upper corner to try to be inconspicous. Seemed about 100 others had the same idea although we didn't realise until we equalised. Second half had a police/steward cordon around us.
Chelsea away 2001 when we won 1-0, in the directors Box (looks like one or two others were in there as well!) surrounded by Charlton so didn't matter that I went completely beserk when we scored ;-)
Aston Villa's home end about 3 times now as my mate is a Holte Ender although I've never braved sitting up there, one time this included the coldest game I've ever been to, think it was the 1-0 loss in Nov. 2005, honestly nowhere near as cold as Chesterfield!
Oxford away in the early 1990's, think we won four nil or four one and then a couple of times at Wimbledon (but you couldn't really tell the home from the away fans twards the end at selhurst could you?!)

LOL - see my post earlier - looks like you and me were in the same boat that night!

Nil Bleeding Nil if memory serves correct.

Arsenal away - 5-3 - got a couple of clumps for jumping up at our 3rd goal

Done home ends at WHL three times, Arsenal once and Chelski twice,
To be honest, part of me doesn't want to be put in this situation again as i just feel like a pressure cooker wanting to explode during the match.
