Darren Bent and Chris Powell

  • I know he didn't spend long away from the Valley but Stevie Brown is another to add to the list. My Reading mate loves Brownie even though he was only there for a couple of seasons.

Other than that, all the obvious ones, Deano, Kins, Rob Lee, Parker (I know I should hate him but he was such a good player for us and I hate Chelsea more for stunting what should have been great career), Luke Young, Peter Shirtliff and oddly Iwelumo - think it's because it must get on Pardew's tits to see him doing so badly. Oh and Lloyd Sam now too. Add Curbs and Lennie too as managers and I was pleased when Stevie Gritt got a moderate amount of success keeping Brighton up that year.
  • Bent deserves his England goal. Successive England managers have robbed him of a World Cup place. England bore me, but I was delighted when Bent scored.

I always look to see how Jimmy Daniels is doing, he was a great servant.
  • Dean Kiely, Chris Powell, Luke Young, Claus Jensen, Parker, D Bent are the players I hope(d) to do well.

Honourable mention to Scott Carson, Alex Song and even Nicky Weaver.
  • A contraversial one... i was always a fan of Paul Konchesky, and he did well at Fulham. Also Cory Gibbs, to see if he ever really existed.
  • Most ex-players to be honest, unless they end up in the ersatz blue and red of Palace or at Millwall.
  • I've always kept an eye on Parker, the best player I've ever seen play for us, although I'm glad that it didn't work out for him at Chelsea!

Harveys Trainer's got it spot regarding why Bent has so much respect from Charlton fans.
  • I'd add Andy reid, Simon webster, zz, boughera to those already mentioned
  • Always look out for ex-Charlton players.

Includes the youngsters from the youth team if they finally make it elsewhere.
  • Dean Kiely!

    Young kevin lisbie
  • Darren Ambrose, his fighting qualities left a lasting impression and I always hope he does well and follow his progress. Another player I look for and hold in equally high esteem is Young kevin lisbie, I know he left the club before he was able to make his mark, far too young, but hope he matures into a fine footballer one day.
