A TEAM OF CURRENT EX- CHARLTON; WHERE WOULD THEY FINISH?

edited September 2010 in General Charlton
Just musing aloud; of all current ex-Charlton players, where would this eleven finish in the premiership /championship?

Keily / ?

Luke Young; Bougherra; Shittu; Konchesky;

Varney; Parker ; Murphy; Thomas

Bent; Bothroyd

Mid table in the prem? Top of chamionship?

    Whatever would happen, there would be plenty of arguments onhere about the bext team.

    I would go for

    Carson

    Luke Young; Bougherra; Turner; Konchesky;

    Bowyer; Parker; Song; Murphy;

    Bent; Defoe

    And that team would hold its own in the Prem
  • Varney before Rob Lee - you be trippin'!!

    Yes, but Robert Lee's getting on a bit, isn't he?

    I may have not spotted the word "current".

    It's quite a salient word in this instance isn't it!

    4 of that side will be playing champions league football this season. 2 more are in or around the England squad. Definitely a good enough side for a mid table premier league finish.
  • Kiely over Carson

    Young Turner Bougherra Konchesky

    Sam Murphy Song Thomas

    Bent D, Iwelumo (I know what you're thinking, but I actually think he would cause problems in the Prem and Bent/Iwelumo could be a decent partnership)
  • Apart from central defence, these teams are pretty strong.
  • Ricardo Fuller would be close to my starting line up.
  • No mention of Andy Reid? I believe he was playing very well for Sunderland prior to being injured, and is now nearly mended.

    I don't remember him playing a competitive first team match although I know he was here for a while and injured during that time (no change there then some might say!)

  • You lot are as bad of Parky - fancy leaving Shelvey out ;-)
  • alredy a thread on this
  • Looking wider, Diawara and Bougherra both have European experience, and Bothroyd has 6 in 6 this season
  • I had a fantasy team of ex- Charlton players last season - and finished bottom of my league!

    That's no fantasy .....it came true 2 seasons ago!
