Without doubt mine was a MG Metro Turbo. It was the third car i owned and i bought it at auction. It overheated every time it was in traffic . The Turbo never worked and it rusted on both wings. Coming home from Great Yarmouth i got caught in traffic and blew the top end on it. Head gasket cooked - Good riddance. Surely the worst car ever made in this country ???.

The worst car I owned, just because of the state of it was a Ford Classic - not many people will know what that looks like. I did like overhearing people arguing about what it was at petrol stations though. To give you an idea of the condition, most of one of the back wings was fiberglass, the boot floor had a kink in it, I would think caused by the accident that did for the back wing, and it had rust and filler everywhere.
This was the Ford Consul Classic - following the big old things (last model the 375?).
There was also the catchily named Ford Consul Classic Capri - visually the same from the front but instead of the inverted rear window (à la Anglia) it had a slopey out one and was (maybe) a two-door.
Otherwise, an Austin Allegro, bought new, which was always having electrical blackouts. I should have known better.
riddled with rust and had a warped cylinder head. Even after skimming it, head gaskets would last about a fortnight. Got that job down to less than two hours so many times did I have to do it.
The car never let me down but always regarded it as a bit of a dog.
Had a E reg Fiat Croma on loan for a month between cars - what a pile of shite! Must have moved on as Schumacher has one he uses as a road car nowadays.
The windscreen wipers would stop working when it rained, the exhaust gasket had to be replaced every 3 months and I won´t go into details about the rust problems.
lasted about 2 months before i ragged it to death could have been a quality motor if i spent money on it turned into a complete wreck
was a quick fecka though
i just wished i had forked out on a better one and not gon e for a cheapo with big plans to deo it up, only to reaise it was fruitless and very costly
Left it at a mates house for a run around when I visited Thailand for holidays and it was washed away in the Tsunami
Had huge red SE7 on front trunk and sides
sigh
we have the Enfield motor pagent here every year and i always try to go and see it, i have seen some really lovely MG maestro, Montego,Metros over there some for sale and people wanting in excess of 5k for them, they are in good nick though
best car i saw there was a Lotus Sunbeam Bright red geezer wanted 11k for it, i got in it with the old spill i always wanted one of these i am looking for a new toy took it on the A10 And jeesus was it quick the bloke looked so sad when i said sorry mate i cant see myself in it, even though i was whoooping for joy every time it thrust me back into my seat
First car in 1994 exactly as seen in photo below, Austin Allegro (aka old aggro) was very old even in 94, automatic and had a bit of an oil problem.
There was no doubt that at the first opportunity it was going on a Charlton away day.
This turned out to be The FA Cup Replay @ Blackburn. I asked a few to come in the car but they opted for the coach instead!
I left home at 0730 for some strange reason, remember stopping at Coventry on route and got to Blackburn pretty early, around 1300. Took some photos of the countryside and generally enjoyed myself as you do when you have just passed your test and are out on your own for the first time properly, it was an adventure!!
The pub that was run by the Charlton fan outside the ground was shut, in fact the whole town seemed shut except a desolate Ladbrokes i found in Darwen.
The afternoon passed by without anything to report except that i lost some money in the bookies and eventually met up with some mates who turned up on the coach. Pre match gathering in the pub, won the match against the odds FANTASTIC. Nothing could go wrong.
Obviously no sat navs back then and it was 10pm and once again mates refused to travel in car. I decided to follow the supporters coach back to the motorway, it was dark there were some country lanes and before you could say "Super Darren Pitcher" I was absolutely lost 100% with no coach in sight. Lost it at some lights..

Car sold
I bought it from a very nice man on a car lot near The Standard (many years ago). It didn't start very well but did have that lovely extra of a starting handle ( for younger Lifers this is a handle you inserted in the front of the engine and by turning it you could start the engine). Well on a very snowy day in deepest Dorset it wouldn't start and in my annoyance I managed to put the starting handle through the radiator - the snow turned a lovely flouresent green - very pretty but the car was knackered!
