Unbelievable really

edited January 2007 in General Charlton
We've been rubbish all season and have played largely without any passion, belief, skill or commitment. Yet despite all of that we still find ourselves only a few points from safety. Surely we can't do it ................... can we???

  • Maybe it's the few drinks I've had but..... we have a chance!!
  • Oh yes we can... if Charlton are a mid table team (normally) then we need that kind of form in the next few weeks to gently close the gap by a point every so often... let's face it we have the same players as most years + a decent manager (at last) so why not?!!! We keep this going and Pardew will have us finishing strongly with the form carrying into next year (whichever division we are in!)
  • it depends entirely on what sort of form Wigan and Sheff U put in over the next couple of months.

Our destiny is still in our own hands, but it will envolve two other teams having very poor runs, and one of them won't be West Ham.
  • I think (hope) Sheff U might've just shot their bolt now. Wigan are in freefall. You never know.

The West Ham game is going to be absolutely massive for us ....... yet another "must win game" - and we know what we normally do in those!
  • We just keep going - and the Radio 5 commentary talked about the confidence growing today - even before the goal

West Ham they're a laugh basically (along with Wigan) in that difficult second season in the Premier League. They've got a couple of decent midfielders, an injured star striker and a load of Charlton rejects!!!! That could be the day we overtake them in the league - I can just see Romm vs Konchesky lol and Thomas will tickle them on the left - can't see our back 5 taking any prisoners that day.
  • confidence will only really start to come if we can register something back to back. All of a sudden, things look very different, Bolton got dicked today, Chelsea in a bit of mini-crisis. If the players go into these games with the right attitude, there could be bonus points on offer here. Remember, our goal difference is terrible so that's realistically another point we have to make up.

At least its given us a bit of hope for another 7 days...
  • It certainly is a funny old game ..............
  • That's the trouble !!! It's not the despair - it's the hope we can't stand lol
  • If we can get something from the next three games, say 4 points then we really will have given ourselves a great chance of staying up. My three to go down, Wigan, SUFC and Watford
  • Thought you was going to say Faye scoring
