McCormack - 7 : Loved THAT tackle; showed promise for first game
Reid - 8 : Lots of signs that he can be the player of the season
Sodje - 8 : Did HIS job very well; won headers/knock downs/right positioning/took his chance/unlucky with the toe poke over the bar
Abbott - 7 : Looked a handful; always pushing/chasing
Racon - 5.5 : Can't seem to remember anything about him TBH
(non-scoring)
Martin - 8 : Looked very good BUT the opposition were knackered and he had the pace and skill to look a league above.

Solly - Motm for me, solid consistent and got a fair few headers for a smaller player 8.5
Jackson -Steady but nothing to get excited about 6
Dailly - Solid and work hard, deffo the right choice as captain 7.5
Doherty -Solid and a great header of the ball 7
Wagstaff -Can do so much better and he knows it, but combined well with Solly....you can see thay have played together for years 5
Semedo -Not his usuall dominating self, couldnt see why he was sent off myself 6
McCormack -Impressive debut, like the man already 7.5
Reid -First half he was unstoppable, Premier league qulaity, second half he was Rymans League but a 8 for that first half
Sodje -Solid and dependable, worked hard 7
Abbott -as above 7
Racon -Not a great start for Therry, but its not really his role being the Semedo of the team 5
(non-scoring)
Martin - Didnt see anything to get excited about, cant wait to see how he fairs after all the ex Man Ure rubbish stops...5
Solly - 7.5 - Best he's played for us, gonna give francis a real run for his money at rb
Jackson - 6 - didnt have much to do, ref seemed to blow for a foul anytime he came near their winger
Dailly - 7 - Didtn really have anything linked well with rest fo back four
Doherty - 6.5 - Dodgy few touches at start but looked pretty composed by end, didnt lose 1 head
Wagstaff - 5 - Lot betta to come from wagstaff, seemed he was supporting solly going forward rather than the other way round
Semedo - 6 - Never a sending off, pretty quiet from mr semedo today though
McCormack - 7 - Impressed with him, esp after reading reviews from preseason, gonna be good to have a realy solid centre spreading the play to either wing
Reid - 7.5 (MOM) Edged Solly for MOM purely because everything we created came from him, looked a gulf in class, gonna tear league a new one this season
Sodje - 7 - Best iv seen him play in a chalrton shirt, although ineffective once was up on own
Abbott - 6.5 - Good touch/vision, think he'll come very good for us this yr
Racon - 5.5 - Pretty ineffective when came on, thought he may have something to prove but ddint appear to offer anything
(non-scoring)
Martin - Looked a great signing, but will hold judgement till seen him play 90 min and atleast trained and meet some of the player!! had bags of skill but did have loadsa space to play with as bournmouth pushed up.

Solly 8 MOM good positional play, good decision making, quick decision making, tenacious, good throw ons, a couple of passes put pressure on teammates, but overall very good today.
Dailly 7.5 Class work, so reliable, good captains game.
Doherty 6.5 Improved as the game went on, was there when we needed him late in the match.
Jackson 7 dead balls impressed.
McCormack 7.5 great running back tackle in the first half, took the pain for the team, great work leading up to goal.
Semedo 7 need to see the S.O. again, he cares tho.
Reid 7.5 Great first half but faded a bit, set up goal well.
Waggy. 6 Quiet overall
Akpo. 7 Scored, but seems to need to make more intelligent decisions...can he I wonder?
Abbott. 6 Quiet overall, but honest.
Racon 6 I would not have brought him on myself in those circumstances.OK.
Martin 6.5 Nice vignette, I am pleased but undecided.
Francis 6 OK, no mistakes, helped Solly to complete his game.
Officials first half 8, second half 6
Bournemouth, responded in second half, but not a threat really. 6
Parkinson 8, we won.
Crowd a very creditable 7.5, with the Cherries support a 7
Solly - 7.5 - Did well
Jackson - 6.5 - Did his job out of his best position
Dailly - 7 - Solid but not really tested.
Doherty - 7 - Same as Dailly
Wagstaff - 6 - Helped out Solly and the odd decent moment, but no real effect on the game
Semedo - 6 - Did ok, need to see the tackle again
McCormack - 7 - Solid, gets tackles in, ideal for this league as an alternative to Racon
Reid - 7.5 - Man of the Match, but second half got tired, made some poor decisions and his crossing wasn't good enough. Good long range free kick in the first half.
Sodje - 7 - He will frustrate but he scored. Given good service from the wide players he will get goals at this level and worry defenders
Abbott - 6.5 - No worse than Sodje but the goal puts Sodje just ahead of him. Be interesting to see him with a different type of striker to Sodje
Racon - 6 - Did enough
(non-scoring)
Martin - 7 - Played his part in wasting some time. Want to see more of him though, and hopefully he has some sort of end product to go with the tricks when starting a game

Martin too early to form a view
6 is my start point for an ok par performanceand I deduct or add as I think fit. You will gather that I thought they all put a shift in yesterday although too early to properly evaluate the ability of the oppo. Gut feeling though is Bournemouth will survive.

Solly - 8 - MOM - excellent performance. Tenacious, aggressive and useful with the ball at his feet running at the oppo. Like him, hope he does well
Jackson - 7 - Obvious quality on the ball. Decent range of passing
Dailly - 7.5 - Never troubled
Doherty - 7 - Ricket in the first half could have cost us, but other than that, as solid as Dailly
Wagstaff - 6 - Never really in the game
Semedo - 6.5 - Authoritative, but not a real force. Never a red card though
McCormack - 7.5 - Excellent. Looks a really good signing - stamped himself all over the midfield. Tackle tracking back in the first half was awesome
Reid - 7.5 - Shaun Newton reincarnated. He'll have shit games as well, but this wasn't one of them. Very impressive, though faded badly at the end
Sodje - 7 - Right place, right time for the goal (something that you can't say about him all the time). Looks short of fitness though and was useless at the end
Abbott - 7 - Pretty good start. Touch seemed poor, but I guess that might have been nerves. A real nuisance - possibly the new Andy Hunt?
Racon - 6.5 - Did OK when he came on, but is no Semedo - and only seems to play well when he's playing with Semedo.

Seth think your points for officials very generous, would not give an average of over 5.
AFKA how about adding to this the performance of the officials on going?

However it is possible for people to 'read' a ref, and act accordingly. I knew instantly that he would send off Semedo give a couple of close-to-yellow calls against us earlier, and he was theatrical in telling Robbie to hurry up, so the extra 5 was no suprise. It is possible to subtly influence a ref, but firstly players have to understand their mindset.
I would wager big money that on the playing side at Charlton maybe one, possibly two, people have even read the laws of the game (it's a very cheap paperback book), and a smaller percentage of the crowd!
The ref made some very dodgy individual decisions, but he kept up with play, was definite when he made a call, and from what I can tell was not favouring one team over the other. Officials are like the weather, or pitch conditions, a variable that one has to cope with, and I don't think we have the nous to cope with them that well.
Brian Clough had a good and effective way of dealing with referees, and despit having some 'tasty' players in his teams, it worked to his advantage.
