Question for cyclists

edited August 2010 in General Charlton
Planning on cycling to games this season. I've seen cycle posts by the entrance to the west stand. Are there others? do they get oversubscribed? If so how early do I need to get there? Is it safe? I assume it is free.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

  • Up at the Sam Bartram people just chain them to the fence. Only about 3 or 4 bikes there last year.

Thought about doing it myself this year....

Not this Saturday as beer will be involved ....

£2000 fine for drunk in charge of a bike.

There are some cycle parking spaces behind the "superstore". They get crowded in good weather and are often rammed after 2.30.
  • I've cycled to every home game at the valley for the past 3 seasons. You can use the posts at the side of the clubshop, behind the west stand, although its difficult to manouvre the bike through crowds at full time. I lock up in the bike posts outside the train station, and have never had any problems (although admittedly I don't own the most valuable bike). Or on Woolwich road if I pop into the RoD after (for one) ;-)
  • Thanks. I'll risk the station then, with a couple of heavy duty locks for reassurance.
