Steffen Iversen

edited August 2010 in General Charlton
Remember him? Ex-Spurs. Bagged a hattrick for Rosenborg yesterday and at 33, he still is a very good striker.

Next month he will be moving back to London with wife Anna Crane and two kids. He is now looking for a new club in London where his kids are starting school.

Says he wants to play in PL or C-ship. Really dont think PL-clubs will touch him, and then you would think he could consider Charlton.

He would probably be one of Charltons biggest earners, but if the budget does allow it, I would love to see him play at The Valley for the next couple of seasons.

He seem to have overcomed injury-problems early in his career. Not a regular for Norway now, but many think he should be.

  • would be great but really can't see it happening. i don't think we could afford his wages and i think there would be a lot of interest from championship sides
  • To be fair his recent record is class... don't think he'd want to join us and we couldn't touch his wages i wouldn't imagine
  • Not sure we need yet another target man if I'm honest, if he has bags of pace then maybe, but somehow I doubt that...........
  • I reckon someone like QPR will snap him up.
  • Just because his recent record in Norway is good, doesnt mean he will be a success in the English League. Struggled at Wolves during his last spell overhere.
  • Pardew alert !!
  • Maybe he struggled in a weak PL-side with Wolves in 2004, but theres no doubt he would be excellent in League One.

He did well for Spurs in his first spell in England last time he left Rosenborg. Even more a clever target man now.

I agree, it might not seem realistic in terms of wages. But having limited choices, he might take a wage cut. Not certain any of QPR, Palace, Millwall or Watford will approach.

Offer him a two year deal where he gets double wages next season - depending on promotion and at least 25-30 starts.
  • would be an excellent signing - we just can't afford him !!

At worst hew will want £5k perweek - we could only offer him half that at best.

QPR or Palace may have him
  • Scored the winner for Palace today. Golfie in the post above was spot on.
