I don't think this is true for a number of reasons.
1. Scunthorpe's manager has flatly denied this rumour
2. York will want more than 100k for their top scorer
3. Colchester apparently had a bid of 200k turned down earlier this summer so York are unlikely to agree a deal of half that.
However Brodie is apparently out of contract next summer so York may well decide he has to be sold now or risk losing him for free next year.
Scunthorpe have sold/lost-on-Bosman all of their strikers from last season (including £2.4m for Gary Hooper), so I would imagine they'd have a bit more to spend than us as well.
I agree we need someone direct & pacy upfront. I wonder how much it would cost to prise Jon-Paul Pittman away from Wycombe - I thought he was a handful when we palyed them at their place.

i thought he was real quality and i couldnt believe that he didnt move on when the went down ..
[cite]Posted By: Leroy Ambrose[/cite]I'm guessing we don't think he's good enough, are sick of strikers untested at the level we're playing and have already signed Pawel Abbott.
If we wanted a top Blue Square striker we could have kept Fleetwood? Brodie is a rough diamond with a dodgy first touch. Also a habit of getting himself sent off - so a dodgy temprament too.
[cite]Posted By: cabbie8[/cite]I agree we need a goalscorer now, two big lads up front now. We need a young, quick striker who'll get us 20 goals a season.
Im glad to hear you think the same cafc se7,i was expecting a lot more positive reaction to his signing.Hope im not getting carried away but i really think he will be the striker we have been looking and will fire us to the Championship, roll on Saturday!

Now we've got Abbott and Sodje, my hunch is that Parky is looking at other types of striker now.
Ones with good goal scoring records then..?

there must be a reason why he has not moved on
That'll do for me too.
I'd be happy with an old quick striker
All in all, he seems well capable of hitting the 20 goal mark, depending on level of service and support.
But we still need someone capable of playing off him, probably a nippy channel runner. ..... who might well get his own share of goals.
