So will Parker go on strike again to get the move to his beloved Spurs or has he grown up a bit...?

Here we go again...

I heard that Liverpool were keen on getting him to replace Mascherano. Tug o' War anyone?!

As Parker is under contract he won't know what Spurs are offering ;-)

Parker to hand in a transfer request withinh a week I reckon. Champions League football or a relegation battle? He doesn't owe West Ham anything and should look to leave.

Oddly, I actually think he's better. Would be a great signing for them.

Noticed on OptaJoe's brilliant Twitter that Wham won 23% of games with him in the team and just 14% with him out

Shouldn't go to Spurs. Their fans have absolutely no loyalty to their players whatsoever.

Also, as a club they are jankers and I wish they would die.

If history repeats its self then he will sign a new 5 yr deal (getting a big fee into the bargain) and then leave on transfer deadline day !!!!!!!!

Perhaps Spurs haven't made a ridiculous offer yet...

    Chunes - I concur!
  • Am i the only one who thinks Spurs don't really need him? They should look to buy a left winger instead.

He'd be much better off going to Liverpool.

Sullivan and Gold's stance is admirable but they will know that every player has a price and Parker will more than likely want to leave.

Would be interested to know just how many five year contracts he has signed since leaving us.

West Ham may well not want to sell at any price, but there seems to be just a bit too much information around about how many clubs might want to buy him to think that there is no truth in him being ready to leave.

Modric is doing well enough on the left and Bale can play there, they have tonnes of centre mids but Parker is better than all of them unless that Sandro turns out as amazing as he does on FM... Depends how much West Ham will sell him for as well.

Modric - Parker - Hudd/Sandro - Lennon would be a very good midfield.

Shame none of their strikers are CL quality.

    Great post!
  • Sullivan and Gold love a needlessly elaborate press release.

    Pair of attention-seeking berks.

I think Modric has a bit of a rich man's Nicky Bailey about him. If you look at the Opta stuff on the Guardian site you'll see that he spends relatively little time on the wing. Most of the balls he receives are inside, pretty much where an attacking mid would operate. So, for me they'd be better bringing in a specialist and playing him where he belongs.

Much as I continue to rate Parker very highly, I'd also say that Palacios is in the same bracket quality wise. Basically, Spurs could strengthen any other position and be better off, IMO

I see Parker thinks he should be able to hear what Tottenham are offering, even though he's got 3 years left on his deal.

I hope he goes on strike and is left to rot in the reserves this time.

As much as I hate Spurs I would love to see him go on strike and refuse to play for West Ham, then maybe West Ham can offer to buy his old dear a nice new house, wasn't that what they did to Defoe?

ironically enough, it was Spurs who offered to buy Parker's parents a house when he was a schoolboy with us - they said thanks but no thanks...

Whatever you think of Sullivan and Gold this is a pretty strong unambiguous statement

"I made a promise that I would not sell Scott and I will not, for any amount of money, break that promise to the West Ham supporters. Scott is not for sale at any price, to anyone. West Ham supporters, for far too long, have had owners that sell their best players and promise one thing and do another. .......... when we make a promise, we honour it."

I would have thought it would not be difficult for them to renege on it, very little room to manoeuvre if the do sell him. I can imagine someone like Sullivan would make an example of Parker, unlike Murray, and let him rot in the reserves for three years.

Sky bet are 5/6 that he will be a Spurs player next year and the bookies dont usually get it wrong.

Is there odds for him to be at West Ham?

i dont have access at work and the odds i saw were headlined. Why, you thinking of backing him to stay?
