The charlton centre midfield factor..... you decide.

Following on from the centre back debate and reading the numerous comments in the rumours forum, its centre midfield time and this time its big brother style....

Racon or Semedo... who goes? You decide.....

Racon for me, apart from a couple of wonder goals dosnt do it week in week out, where as semedo is a massive talent and can cover cb and work rate over the last few months of last season was amazing, racon is a luxury and won't score baileys double figures which we need if we don't get any decent strikers in and his fee or freed up wages could lead parky to getting this type of player.

Agree with you 100%. Semedo is consistently good, whereas Racon can be a bit hit or miss.
  • I'd stick with both and use widemen
  • I agree too, Racon for me, but fear, as he is the better of the pair that Semedo may be the one who attracts more interest as the season's start approaches.

With Bailey and Spring gone and only McCormack signed, I'm hoping that we will hold on to these two, so that we have at least 3 senior pros competing for two positions, backed up by Stav.
  • Last year's game plan seemed to be to get the ball out wide, but once out there we usually had only the diminutive Burton in the box, so it's a bit harsh to blame Racon for the failure of this tactic. Luckily the add-on was for Bailey to arrive late. If we can keep both Thierry and Jose, and get out of the division, we will be far better equiped to punch our weight in the CCC.
  • Keep Semedo out of the 2, but need both to stay to really challenge this year imo.

That, I'm not convinced we can sign a creative and/or goalscoring central midfielder on a free. The games won't be high scoring but Akpo can score from good crosses and ideally the new strikers will be able to as well.

We know they're a decent (but not the most attacking) partnership that work well with each other. McCormack is probably going to be used when needed and Jackson used in whatever position we need him.

If it's one or the other, Semedo.
