Anyone know if he is off witht he squad in the next few days. I guess if he is on their little tour there is a good chance he will sign up...would be fantastic.
Just look out for the line up and 2nd half team in the Kettering match later. Bound to be a few updating via Twitter or on here. Wouldn't be surprised if a few of the trialists aren't there any more.
He would be third choice though? That together with his wage demands will make it a difficult signing to justify in my eyes. We do still need an additional centre back as I'm not sure what Fry is like. Saying that I am happy with Lera as third choice and think he gets a bit too much stick.

Parky does though. And he wouldn't have brought him here twice if he didn't think he was capable. I think he played centre back for Gillingham as well, not left back, so Parky and his staff know what he can do af this level.

Fry did alright against us at Priestfield last season.
Thought he was immense last night. Parky has a problem now that's for sure, as who does he drop when Dailly is fit? Or will Dailly not even get back in the side?
think we should hold fire on getting over excited. He looked ok but was hardly tested.
Was stretching his ham strings and blowing out of his arse for the last 15mins. If he contains Alexander and MacDonald on Saturday then I might get excited.
Thought Fortune was fairly solid last night, certainly not as great as a few have described. Think it was an easy game for him last night as their forwards were as toothless a front line as I have seen. Be interesting to see how he plays over next couple of weeks especially against a mobile pacy front line like Peterborough.
In the past I have thought there were shortcomings in JF's game, but last night I felt he played a blinder and didn't put a foot wrong. Definitely looks classy in League 1.
There's been a question mark over his pedigree for some time. He did after all, make a fair few appearances in our Championship relegation season and was pretty ordinary then. However, Sunday was one of his better games lately and it was nice to see him a bit more aggressive in the air than he has been to date. He might have made one or two errors but was mainly ok although I do concede that he seemed to fade as the game wore on.
My user name is based on the great man's goal that helped relegate that lot from down the road. JF will always be a hero to me.
But sadly after Sunday's game, I really wonder for how much longer we are going to see JF in a Charlton shirt. Sorry Simonsen, I can't agree yesterday was one of his better games - frankly I thought he was dire, particularly in the 2nd half. What was particularly upsetting was his complete lack of pace - he was so slow it was embarrasing at times.
Maybe the serious injury that he has suffered has taken a lot more out of him than anyone has realised. I sincerely hope not because I'd love to see a fully fit JF dominating the centre of our defence as he once did. But equally if his injury does mean that he is never going to recover his form, then I fear it must be time for him to call it a day, not least because I don't want my final memories of a great CAFC man based on his performances in these last few games - particularly yesterdays.
As Rothko said on another thread his legs look gone to me. Suspect the injury will be a bridge too far for him.
He has always had the propensity to switch off in games and still does. He was terrible against Barnet in the replay and was off the pace yesterday. If we have money coming in I suspect he will be gone in January. Said it on other threads. I'd play Llera infront of him.
Is it really lack of fitness or have his legs just gone. On Sunday his lack of any pace whatsoever makes me worry for him. The old Forch would stroll this league.

What if we kept the Plymouth guy and lost Fortch and Llerra?

Don't know anything about Seip to be honest so can't really comment. Given that out squad is wafer thin anyway, not so sure that two players out replaced by one is really such a good idea.
IMHO Llera has been treated pretty shabbily. No-longer even warranting a place on the bench! He was our best defender against Luton in the first game.

You've answered the question I was going to ask here. I havent seen him yet this season, but yesterday Bradley Allen commented "he looks a spent force".

He probably does too.

(Not that that says a lot!)

Having got used to Llera it was like having Franco Baresi at the back!
We haven't kept a clean sheet away yet, so if he does play at Brentford it will give us a bit more to go on.
A fit Jon Fortune could hold his own in The Premiership - Llera could hold his own in the Blue Square Premiership.
Fortune & Dailly for me.
Two class players at this level and I like them both but are they too similar?
Do we need to play a more aggressive first ball type (Doc or Llera) alongside one of them?
Is he carrying an injury problem?

That's bad news and sad news.
