more lennie than llewellyn ?

parky's signings so far keep making me think that perhaps we should start getting ready for a lennie style revival, not a curbishley style revival with a team that's starting to look like it could mean business...if people thought curbs worked miracles (and this is not to take away anything from what he achieved) then lennie putting together a team that won promotion in a season when we lost the valley and stayed up when we had no home worked a bigger and probably even more unexpected miracle...i'm actually starting to look forward to the start of the season now...

  • Fair enough but we still need a couple of strikers.
  • Think you mean more Robin than Llewellyn, whatever two great managers and happy times had some 25years ago. Will have too wait until we have a full squard of players before i start licking my lips.Must have at least two forwards who can net 20 goals each before thinking of the good times returning. That said ,give Parky credit ,no money at the moment but building the players up slowly.
  • So the best Charlton managers don't use their real name. Llewellyn (Alan) Curbishley, Robin (Lennie) Lawrence, James (Jimmy) Seed and Philip (Phil) Parkinson. Could have decided against Alan Pardew and Iain Dowie just by checking their full name.

But Pardew was, "Sooper Al" - and Dowie was, "Duh!"

So, sorry, Scoh ..... your argument doesn't quite stand up.

    ;o)

I thought this was going to be a thread about Laurence Llewelyn Bowen and Lennie Lawrence! Style and function etc. Can't we change?
  • As long as we sign more George Shipley's than Jimmy Loveridge's then I would be a happy man. Clearly a Johnny H style right back would be a bonus!
