Talk of cup finals is a bit silly as most have been to the 'actual' FA Cup Final in 2004.
Anyone here alive in 40s to see your lot in one?
so explain why you rarely sell out, and oddly did so when we played at yours
You didn't answer the question!
On your question, it might have had something to do with a successful promotion campaign. They are rare for both of us, your last one was over a decade ago!
You were supposed to be in that final but your team didn't turn up as I recall..
They were doing OK till the stroke of half time! We've sold just over 6,000 season tickets to date.
[cite]Posted By: FreeThinker[/cite]Will the away support be down a bit more though, Leeds, Norwich and Millwall going up and replaced with lesser away followings in Peterboro and Plymouth
I don't know about Peterborough .... but I'm the self-styled expert on Plymouth Argyle on here! ;o)
What I can tell you, is that Argyle have a very healthy number of away followers .....and the biggest non-Prem, London supporters club for a team based outside London. They've many 'ex-pats' that have emigrated from down here, and live and work amongst the bright lights of London...... and seize the chance to see their team play in London.
Sheffield Wednesday always bring a decent away following, and if Wednesday are doing well in the League, will probably sell out the Jimmy Seed. Southampton, Orient, Brentford, and Brighton will all bring good support.
And I heard a 'rumour' that every single supporter of Dagenham & Redbridge are all coming to fill three-quarters of the Jimmy Seed.
[cite]Posted By: Addickted[/cite]'Phoned the box office to try and get another ST. Was told I needed to complete another form..... fair enough.
But have not received the form after requesting twice now.
Are you a red card holder?
All you need is your red card number and you can do it over the phone. I got three today. One for me and one each for two other people. No problems. Just needed the red card member of each person and of course the money
I think the reason Addickted cannot buy over the phone is that the ticket he wants is for a new U11 so he needs to supply proof of age with the application.

[cite]Posted By: O-Randy-Hunt[/cite]The unusual amount of season tickets sold in the run up towards Xmas must have been the millwall fans so they got to see there cup final
Pah! Buy Charlton season tickets? We all stormed through the disabled entrance gates that everyone cried about.
If say you sell 9,000 season tickets by kick off, how many do you lot expect will be buying tickets on the day?
You average 16k roughly last year, will there be 7,000 coming regularly on top? Or would you expect it to be maybe 12-14k for the majority of games this year?
how many season tickets have you sold so far sparrows? (not a my dad's bigger than your's thing, just interested to know) and how many do you expect to sell / average crowd expected this season ?

We've sold.....*drum roll*.........{make sure you're sitting down for this}.......*trumpets playing*......just over 6,000 so far.....we sold about 5,000 last year.
Would be interesting to see how many we sold the last time we got promoted in 2001 to compare to todays circumstances.
Our average I reckon should be 12-14k...the big difference will be vastly improved away followings, the away support was dire at ours last year.
Did most teams in the league last year take big followings to The Valley?

Walsall, Stockport (poor form) and Hartlepool (midweek cr** weather) were the only noticeably low away attendances at The Valley I can recall.

Others may remember more.
Walsall, Oldham, MK Dons, Bristol Rovers, Swindon, Hartlepool, Orient, Tranmere, Yeovil, Stockport and Carlisle were all in the hundreds and Wycombe were only one over the 1,000 mark
Only sell-outs or as good as were: Leeds, Norwich, Swindon (p/o), Millwall, Gillingham... Brighton and Southampton about 70% full
Relative to home attendances of the respective clubs, I think the numbers brought to The Valley were reasonable by and large and where they weren't there were extenuating circumstances eg Hartlepool midweek, poor weather and a long way to travel.
Yes Yeovil, for example, brought a few hundred but their average gate is only about 5,000 or so perhaps less.
